    Not sure about that; isn't DC a target-rich environment; I mean a gun-free zone.

We as Americans no matter what our race, creed, color, age or gender has a obligation to protect others and prevent wrong no matter what banner they hide behind.

One marine and one old bullet catcher ... no weapon needed. :)

The movement always celebrates people who break the law.
  • 4cards
...if elected Hillary said she is going to pledge hundreds of millions to make racism go away....so there won't be any more of these attacks anymore, right?

I disagree. And we could get into a whole debate about it, but it wouldn't really change anything. Unfortunately, these people used the movement as a cover to hurt an innocent man. That's deplorable. But that's not what the BLM is about.

This topic buns me every time....I have no problem with a black lives matter movement as long as it does not mean that white lives don't matter! If this is a real movement the would start in Chicago and stop the black on black crime that is completely out of control.

Believe me, there are groups that are addressing this. The problem is that these groups don't get as much exposure as BLM or other "groups" that target white oppression. It's not as "sexy" to the media. I live in Chicago, and have volunteered with organizations that target undeserved areas of the city. Every month my wife volunteers with an organization that helps young girls that have come from broken homes. I've helped with similar organizations for young black boys. The goal is to show them that they don't have to accept their less than desirable circumstances. We show them that there's more to life than drugs and violence. I bet the organizers of these groups would LOVE for Fox News, or CNN, or NBC Nightly News to come down and sit through a session. But they (the big media) won't.

All I hear, living in Chicago, is how awful the black on black crime rates are and how it's a serious problem. But no one ever provides any solutions to how to fix it. These organizations you speak of are out there helping, but no one ever talks about it. They just try to find blame for why the crime is such a colossal problem. Instead of that approach, they need to focus on the good people that are trying to help, to at least show some positive signs to the youth who are stuck in shitty situations.

But unfortunately, positive signs and progress don't really "sell". "Crime!! Murder!! The city is falling apart and no one cares!!" does sell though and is further damaging the issue.

Not true ... Those Blacks that have come to the understanding that the way out of being a racist themselves and preventing racism is "prosperity". Be somebody.....Martin Luther King.. Be that family provider, that responsible citizen, that law biding citizen, that neighborhood leader, that individual that has set standards for his/her self and their family….

The new Democrat Sloan for Hillary … Hype and Chains

That would be my challenge to the Black Live Matter movement...He Beyoncé you had a chance to put a real voice to help and you blew it (I know she reads this).

No she didn't. People are too busy focusing on what her back up dancers are wearing, that they've failed to read the lyrics to the song. Luckily, the people who are most affected by these artists actually pay attention to the lyrics of the song more than the visual imagery. The song itself has more to do with body image and self confidence than it does with anything violent (albeit with some humor and metaphors). It's a song that is actually targeted to young black women more than anything. The visuals in the music video depict a young black kid break dancing in front of cops, and the cops throwing their hands up as if they're surrendering to him. OMG, Beyonce is saying we should shoot police!

This is the same mentality of those people freaking out that Alice Cooper looks like he would drink your blood, but failing to realize that he's a born again Christian.

Honest question: Where exactly is the "white oppression" coming from? Where is the message "black lives don't matter" - the one that gave rise to this movement - coming from?
