Anxiety

sportchamppsWhat up Guys! I've been having basically debilitating anxiety since Friday night. It has made my blood pressure rise and I actually went to the hospital both Saturday and Sunday. Doctors put me on some blood pressure meds and an anxiety pill. Blood pressure is pretty good right now but I can't fully snap out of this anxiety attack.
Has anyone here had this happen before. How did you get back to feeling normal. -
MontyBrunswickrub one out lmao

Belly35Man up butter cup...
There is nothing in your life so bad that you cant handle ..... look around, see your life and situation is great, you're great. The problem is not you, not the wife, dog or friends, it not work, the car or the bills all of this stuff happens every day day after day after day. It not what you do,when you do it or how get it done... Tomorrow will come again and another day to start over beings ... See
Nothing to worry about just dont worry about nothing... -
ernest_t_bassYou drinking a lot? How about caffeine? Alcohol and caffeine can play large parts.

mcburg93I have dealt with anxiety for years. My biggest issue is crowds. Im fine around 5-10 people, but once it starts to get more than that I can not handle it. I have been put on several different pills and tried them all but do not like them cause they put me in lala land. I never had anxiety till around 33 and it hit me pretty good. I went to the er three days in a row cause I thought I was having a heart attack. I tend just to stay away from things that cause my anxiety. I hope you figure out what causes yours and you can control it. Its a battle for me everyday just to go to work or if I go to the store.

Focus on the good things you have, count those blessings, build from there. Know that everyone has a cross to bear to some degree, so you are not alone. Get a dog.
Good luck. -

sportchamppsI have a dog. My story is a lot like McBurgs. This came out of no where and now I can't shake the feeling of impending doom when I'm not at home or am active. It's weird because I know my blood pressure is fine I just can't get myself to man the fuck up.

sportchamppsI feel so good right now though I almost want to leave the house and go do something but I'm afraid I will panic once out again.

Unfortunately, you hear these types of responses all too often regarding anxiety. Fucking clueless.Commander of Awesome;1770022 wrote:Shows they have no clue what they're talking about and is completely insensitive. -

Agreed, and I understand this forum isn't that serious and we give each other shit. But this ain't FW talking out his ass about how great JFF is, this is a real life issue. Gotta know when to give ppl shit and when not to.Automatik;1770023 wrote:Unfortunately, you hear these types of responses all too often regarding anxiety. Fucking clueless. -

Feel better soon man! That sounds terrifying to someone like me who has never had an anxiety attack. -
like_thatOther than belly telling him to man up, I didn't find his post insensitive at all. I know you all like to gang up on belly and Quaker, but really nothing to get your panties in a bunch over. I've been anxious before and talks like that have helped. They simply were just trying to say focus on what's good in your life. Whether it was helpful or not they were just trying.

Azubuike24Honestly, the real key is to try to find the root of the anxiety. Nobody posting in here is going to be able to fix things for you, but there are clearly triggers for these things. For me, it's finances and relationships. Sometimes the signs are obvious, after a breakup or something, but recently I've had the same stuff going on and like you, it comes out of nowhere.
I've found comfort in talking to trusted people about it, meditation, hobbies, etc. I think prayer is a great idea, if that's your thing.
Not saying to avoid the meds, but don't use that as a crutch if it relieves symptoms. It will wreak havoc on other things and cause side effects, and you won't be able to function without it.
Really try to become in-tune with your body and master it. -

Best advice on here, especially finding the root. Talk to somebody that knows you well and can help you find the root.Azubuike24;1770027 wrote:Honestly, the real key is to try to find the root of the anxiety. Ironman92Yeah, find what is triggering it (rid yourself of it if possible) Often there is a major issue behind it all but little shit puts you over the top.
Exercise, talking about it (even on here)....if you feel like going out then definitely go out.
Might need a low dose Zoloft or something. Nothing to be embarrassed of....I'm sure those that care about you would like you to be yourself.
Well wishes to you -

Sorry, but you are wrong; I have gone through these issues myself to some degree, so I have the compassion and some ideas about how to help the situation. And yes, sometimes you just have to force yourself to 'get up and go' and over time you can work your way out of the malaise. -
Ironman92Safe to say everyones' anxiety stories/issues are slightly different

Ironman9213 years ago my position was getting riffed, wife pregnant and buying a new house......the job worry was my trigger but trying to sell house we had neighbors with land that bordered ours and as we were showing our house the neighbors out of fucking nowhere bought 4 little goats and they stayed near our driveway and wouldn't STFU....noisy ass fuckers made it seem like we lived on Old McDonald's farm.
I was on meds for 6 months but once job was secure....it was easy to ween off.
Hopefully that ridiculous but true story helps a bit. -

Do yoga. It's not just for old ladies.sportchampps;1770003 wrote:What up Guys! I've been having basically debilitating anxiety since Friday night. I thought I would elaborate. I do yoga and I am not flexible at all. I'm actually probably the worst at yoga in the entire world; however I do find that after each class I leave so relaxed and I get an amazing night's rest. I encourage you to spend a little cash and go to a class. A lot of places have mats you can rent and are friendly to beginners. Even if you go and suck, I guarantee you will leave with some sense of peace and likely with that some sense of reduction of anxiety. -
SportsAndLadyI didn't see anything wrong with Quaker's post. Thought it was good advice actually.
