So then....yeah, it was kind kinda.HighRoller74;1765328 wrote:Not really.
It was a group of people who mainly lurked the ST/I and Pro/College sports boards who got pissed about the fee, and Justin decided to start our own board. -

Sort've, however like they exact opposite. JJ was predicated on HS Sports, with the others stuff added in as a bonus.skank;1765345 wrote:So then....yeah, it was kind kinda.
We were founded more towards Pro/College Sports and the SB Forum, with the HS stuff just thrown in for any refugees that came over. -

So....y'all read the forums....ATJJHUDDLE....got pissed when JJ started charging....Justin left jjhuddle and started this site.... ....but this site isn't a kind of shoot off of JJ?
I'm....OK. -

Off-shoots are inherently affiliated. This place isn't affiliated with JJHuddle.skank;1765385 wrote:So....y'all read the forums....ATJJHUDDLE....got pissed when JJ started charging....Justin left jjhuddle and started this site.... ....but this site isn't a kind of shoot off of JJ?

If I'm a customer of a business, and I don't like how that business is run, so I start a business in the same niche, the business I start isn't an off-shoot of the first one. It's just a different business in the same niche.

Now you're talking. We're more like one of those knockoffs you can get shipped from China.skank;1765390 wrote:Maybe you're right, a cheap imitation of something isn't the same thing. -

Called it freehuddle at the beginning until he was apparently threatened to not use the huddle name. That place is hilariously silent even during football season. The exodus was hilarious to watch.skank;1765385 wrote:So....y'all read the forums....ATJJHUDDLE....got pissed when JJ started charging....Justin left jjhuddle and started this site.... ....but this site isn't a kind of shoot off of JJ?

SonofanumpI made an offer to buy this site for $751.

O-TrapThe site actually appeared to see a notable bump in traffic in December, per SimilarWeb.
Seems like there's still enough reason to have the site. -

Yes I do care.Commander of Awesome;1835500 wrote:Do you care if they care?
Too much in my opinion. I'd give $500 maximum at this point.Sonofanump;1835510 wrote:I made an offer to buy this site for $751.
Irrelevant. The forums are 20 people, half of which are dual accounts. We need more posters.O-Trap;1835519 wrote:The site actually appeared to see a notable bump in traffic in December, per SimilarWeb.

SonofanumpGood choice

CenterBHSFanI'm guessing that there is a way to save money by having the site inaccessible during most of the weekends? >.>

I'm being an ass, yes. -

From a financial standpoint, not irrelevant. If you think we need more posters, go out and get more posters.sleeper;1835525 wrote:Irrelevant. The forums are 20 people, half of which are dual accounts. We need more posters.
However, it's worth noting that there are a few search terms that OC ranks #1 for in Google: northern ohio sports forum, does an onside kick have to hit the ground
We get around 70% of our traffic from Google search visits (likely non-members), so the site is still profitable, and as long as there is new content (even if it's from the same 20 accounts), that can continue.
But shoot, if you wanna bring more people in, that'd still be cool. -

The site brings in roughly 10x what I spend in server fees each month. It's nowhere close to what it brought in in the beginning, but it's still better than nothing and certainly more than the "offers" I received.O-Trap;1835700 wrote:From a financial standpoint, not irrelevant. Sure. I don't know what you spend on server space, but several thousand visitors a month would certainly be enough I would think.justincredible;1835704 wrote:The site brings in roughly 10x what I spend in server fees each month.
