Right because the US government told Sony, a Japanese company, to not release the film to restrict free speech for the American people.steubbigred;1687627 wrote:it is now open season for everybody to be threatened in this fashion.
free speech has been attacked by wicked people.
our founding fathers came to this land because of the oppression they endured at the hands of king george.
freedom of speech is the most basic and important right free thinking people have on this planet and it is something so many of our brave service men have fought and died for ...
if you are a veteran and did a tour in iraq or afghanastan as i have done then you know this is no joking manner .
sony and those actors capitulated and soon this will happen again . probably against a news organization or reporters with a large audience. -

you and that other clown live under the blanket of protection that people like me have sacrificed my very existence for.
what this was was an attack on freedom of expression with intimidation and scare tactics .
we are a sovereign nation with our own laws . we are not supposed to be under the thumb of a tiny countries ruthless regime.
laws were broken against an american corporation, and against american citizens ....laws .... do you understand that.......those people infringed on our basic human rights ... do you understand that ........... i think you do not comprehend very well ...
your very welcome from this service man for protecting your right to disagree with me no matter how wrong you are ......................... i wont break any laws against you for your expressions and rights .......when that happens that is unethical and unlawful... -

You're an idiot. Yea, let's make a big deal out of a fucking movie that our Government has zero to do with. Congrats. You went to war for our country. You've seen people die. We heard you the first time. Thanks. HitsRusLet's clarify something here.
This is about a vicious cyberattack on Sony. The movie is inconsequential. Sony has every right to protect itself and its shareholders by pulling the movie if they feel it is in their interest to do so. They are not under any obligation to "stand up to terrorism".
The United States is looking into this attack as a general matter of national security. It is not about free speech or the movie. -

You are missing the point. You are right Sony has no obligation to show the movie. This was not a hack by anonymous or a 12 year old in his mom's basement. It was a hack from a Government. Then it was a message online from who knows who threatening 9/11 level attacks on US soil. So now a precedent has been set that any terrorists can just make random threats and get what they want.HitsRus;1687671 wrote:Let's clarify something here.

News articles, movies, tv shows, books.. If it risks making someone mad, better not do it.
Let me also state I am 100% behind a company's right to do what they deem best for business but I don't have to agree with their decision and in this case I feel they were bullied and cowered. -

Sony is a private company. The United States does not own Sony and if you want the government to have control of private companies you are no different than the thugs we are fighting against.steubbigred;1687667 wrote:what on earth are you talking about............

You know why I'm thankful for every serviceman's service except for people like you? Because you think that just joining the military makes your completely misguided opinion about the world somehow more correct. Additionally, people like you continually rub in our faces your military service as some sort of argumentative trump card. Anyone who does that is not deserving of my respect. If you have to keep using your military service as justification for your spewing garbage and claiming it's gospel, then I truthfully don't give a flying fuck that you were overseas.steubbigred;1687663 wrote:

You need to stop calling people idiots until you take a long look in the mirror. Or just read your posts out loud to another human being and gauge their reaction.steubbigred;1687722 wrote:it made a business decision at gun point you idiot. .
