But being a bigot isn't illegal. The only time someone should be outed on an anonymous msg board is if they're doing or promoting something illegal or threatening someone. Let it sink in... CC could lose his job b/c something he posted anonymously. There's no disputing hes an idiot, but you shouldn't lose your job for posting bigoted things anonymously. People are entitled to be morons.lhslep134;1680939 wrote:This is not about a single comment. This is about a repeated string of bigoted comments. This isn't Donald Sterling talking on his cell phone. This is an idiot posting on a public forum.
But unfortunately others are right in saying that's world we live in nowadays and that's the chance we take posting things publicly. -

someone who knows CC reported him to what i'm assuming the school or school board referencing all his racist posts on here. he copied the report to this page and said he also notified the Dayton newspaper to make sure action was taken.BR1986FB;1680963 wrote:Again, WHAT happened? -

This. Shouldn't be fired for being an idiot on the OC. Pretty damn low. Do we know who sent the email?ZWICK 4 PREZ;1680968 wrote:But being a bigot isn't illegal. This. Someone can do some pretty horrible shit to me, and If i retaliated in such a way that they were fired from their job and their livelihood damaged, I would feel like such an ass. No matter how much of a "bigot" they were.gut;1680943 wrote:I don't pretend to really know anyone on an "anonymous" message board. You can't take that back. When reality set in over what I did it'd force me to ask what value I created for fucking someone over. I joke and I know I've crossed the line - if some panty-waste took offense and went after my job they deserve to rot in hell. -

The entire idea of this forum is for people to express their opinions. It would be boring as hell if everyone had the exact same views. -

I think we have someone who just fessed up to trying to screw up someones real, personal life...what a shame.lhslep134;1680939 wrote:This is not about a single comment. This is about a repeated string of bigoted comments. Any outrage over a bigot being exposed as one is extremely misguided.

BR1986FBI'm not a "legal eagle" but if CC were to lose his job, and found out who ratted him out, would he possibly have some legal recourse against that individual?

Just for discussions sake, would it be OK if someone exposed a teacher to be a klan member, or should the teacher be free to spew racist bullshit without fear of repercussions as long as he/she concealed his/her identity under that hood?ZWICK 4 PREZ;1680968 wrote:But being a bigot isn't illegal. No, it is not okay, ever. The ONLY time it is okay to out someone is if they they threaten another person or give reasonable suspicion that they have committed a felony(aka, murder, rape, etc).Mulva;1680992 wrote:Just for discussions sake, would it be OK if someone exposed a teacher to be a klan member, or should the teacher be free to spew racist bullshit without fear of repercussions as long as he/she concealed his/her identity under that hood? -
QuakerOatsOne can spew hate, animosity, and hostility toward whites, Christians, conservatives, rednecks etc.... and all that is perfectly fine in this new politically correct environment promoted by the cultural Marxists. It is a one way street with all the radicals in charge of media, academia, and law.
When emotions, feelings and political correctness trump rational thought, you know you are in trouble. -

I don't know who CC is and frankly, I don't care. I truthfully don't care who any of you are. I enjoy posting here so that's why I do it.Glory Days;1680942 wrote:I think we found the leak...
But there are simply way too many instances out there of the person behind an "anonymous" internet profile being revealed, whether by law enforcement subpoena or internet sleuth like what happened here, for an intelligent person to assume they can be completely anonymous online. Pure naivete.
Am I happy about the posts I've had to make on this thread, that we have to watch what we say anonymously? Absolutely NOT. I'm 100% for free speech. But you have to be smart enough to realize in today's bullshit online privacy world that you're not really anonymous.
Edit: Absolutely NOT happy about what I've had to say on this thread. -
lhslep134
I bolded the key words for you. In today's cyberlaw word, there is no such thing as anonymity. It's unfortunate, but I'm a realist.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1680968 wrote: CC could lose his job b/c something he posted anonymously. . -

Do you think that everything CC posted he believed? Do you think he in real life is who he is on this message board?lhslep134;1680996 wrote:I don't know who CC is and frankly, I don't care. I truthfully don't care who any of you are. I enjoy posting here so that's why I do it.

Because of that, I have no sympathy for anyone dumb enough to post something that could actually get them in trouble.
Because I can tell you right now that 50% of the shit I've posted over the years is in jest and not who I really am as a person. It's simply to make people laugh. Not many people on this board post or act like they do on here in real life. What's naivete is believing they do. -
lhslep134
I don't disagree. And along those lines, my opinion is that CC is an idiot for writing what he did and while everyone can say they're angry, they know they wouldn't be dumb enough to do the same thing.Raw Dawgin' it;1680978 wrote:

I have no idea, I would hope not. But does that REALLY matter? Based on the my past few posts, I obviously believe it doesn't.SnotBubbles;1680999 wrote:Do you think that everything CC posted he believed? Do you think he in real life is who he is on this message board? -
lhslep134
In the screengrab from that douchebag who ratted him out were like 20 links to different bigoted posts. I don't think I've read more than 1 or 2 of them since I tend to stay away from those racially charged conversations on here. Someone else would be better to answer how bigoted his posts really were.SnotBubbles;1681001 wrote:Is there a link to that post? -

This is a good point too. There are several on here who I think have internet "personas" but don't actually believe they could be as dumb/outrageous, as they post on here, in real life.SnotBubbles;1680999 wrote:Do you think that everything CC posted he believed? lhslep134I took a cyberlaw/1st Amendment course in law school and I'd venture to say it was just as infuriating for me seeing what's actually up re: the intersection of those two topics as it is for you guys reading what I'm posting.
I still am a 100% believer that anonymous messaging boards should remain anonymous unless someone's safety or pecuniary interests are actually in danger, but America is how it is. Sometimes it f'ing sucks. -

Sounds interesting, although there's no 1st amendment relevance to the topic at hand that I'm seeing.lhslep134;1681005 wrote:I took a cyberlaw/1st Amendment course in law school and I'd venture to bet it was just as infuriating for me seeing what's actually up re: the intersection of those two topics as it is for you guys reading what I'm posting. -

You don't think? CC said some things online and now he could be in trouble with his employer. Seems like the 1st Amendment could be applicable because he's a state employee (is his school private?).queencitybuckeye;1681008 wrote:Sounds interesting, although there's no 1st amendment relevance to the topic at hand that I'm seeing.
