Yes. California was fucked up, hence the gov getting fired, Arnold being gov, etc. going to take a while to fix how bad they fucked it up.SportsAndLady;1671036 wrote:You don't really believe that do you? -

And you believe the dems in there now are doing a good job, it's just that they are starting from so far behind that it's taking a while for them to fix the problem?Commander of Awesome;1671039 wrote:Yes. California is and has been taking steps in the right direction. More needs to be done to stop the deficit and water conservation for sure. Along with improving their horrible public school system, but it's on the right track at least.justincredible;1671037 wrote:Cleaning up shit with even more shit doesn't sound like a very good plan. -

Yes. Without s doubt. Jerry brown is rocking it. State budget being biggest area where it's much better place than where the republicans left it. Still a lot of work to do though, starting with schools.SportsAndLady;1671041 wrote:And you believe the dems in there now are doing a good job, it's just that they are starting from so far behind that it's taking a while for them to fix the problem?
Great Atlantic article on how Jerry Brown is doing an excellent job: http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2013/06/the-fixer/309324/ -

sleeperCalifornia is back on the right track after what the Republican gave them.
The United State is back on track after what Bush gave them.
LOL. Sorry but California is absolutely fucked and its the Dems running the show. They have the highest state taxes in the country and the largest state debt on the planet($340 billion) with continuing deficits of $10B a year. Imagine if Silicon Valley sprouted up in Chicago or NYC, California would be a 3rd world country.
You want to solve the debt issue? Cut social fundings by 90% and maybe you'll have a shot. California, like Detroit, is the perfect example of why Democrats shouldn't run anything. -

We have the highest deficit with highest population. Simple math and reason (both of which you disregard in your post) would say that the state with the most people and the most money would have the highest deficit. Nice fail.sleeper;1671060 wrote:California is back on the right track after what the Republican gave them.

What you also failed to bring up, and clearly didn't read the article I provided, is that the state was fucked after a reign of Republican governors. Jerry Brown is doing an excellent job. Imagine what our deficit would be if Arnold was still Gov, lol. -

Delusional. Your argument of 'largest state/population = largest deficit' is irrelevant. You don't have a balanced budget because you live in a blue state that over promises social program for votes and then blames the rich for not paying their fair share. You also produce the most tax revenue than any state; your deficit/debt are still out of control.Commander of Awesome;1671064 wrote:We have the highest deficit with highest population. The second argument is also irrelevant. California has had 3 Republican governors governors in its entire history; stop blaming previous administrations YEARS after they've left office. This is a Dem problem; you are part of the problem. -

Ohio?Commander of Awesome;1671095 wrote:Serious question, does any state have a balanced budget? Quick google search I did showed none had one, but wasn't super thorough.
OLUMBUS, Ohio -- State government finished the 2014 fiscal year with a nearly $800 million surplus, according to figures from the Office of Budget and Management. Ohio's fiscal year closed at the end of June. It marks the fourth consecutive year the state has ended with a surplus.
"For the fourth year in a row the state of Ohio has balanced its budget and produced a significant budget surplus, with tax revenues exceeding estimates and state spending kept below projections," said Tim Keen, the director of the Office of Budget and Management.
