zwick has a 5.0l v8 and the big ol' 6.7l v8 size engines in his trucks.ernest_t_bass;1644818 wrote:My biggest issue is that I have not a fucking clue what you guys are talking about.
People are also discussing the 5.4l which is common in f150s.
I also mentioned (which I think is the best Ford truck engine) the 300ci v6 which is a 4.9l.
Truck engines man.... -
ernest_t_bassAnyone know anything about a Nissan Titan?
-
WebFireNo, but back in December I bought a 2005 F-150 4x4, 5.4L Triton. Hope that helps.

Only reason I would even consider the Nissan is b/c it's at the same dealer where I will be turning in my shitty ass leased Honda Civic. I've been scouring the web looking at F-150's for the past week. Probably going to go look at this one today:WebFire;1708545 wrote:No, but back in December I bought a 2005 F-150 4x4, 5.4L Triton. I was looking for around an 09-10 but found a good deal on this 2005. 125k miles for $11,900. Probably drive it 5 years or so and then pass it on to my son who will be 16, and get myself on upgrade. -

The cap will be nice to have, though. This is another one I like:WebFire;1708549 wrote:Damn nice truck. Ditch the cap though (obvi personal preference).

Ok so I just read the beginning of the thread and saw everyone giving you shit for your horse. I was being sincere when I asked.FatHobbit;1708553 wrote:Are you looking for something to pull a horse trailer? -

This is more than likely the one we will be buying. Nice size, 6.5' bed a plus, tons of room. Now to work out a price. What do you car buying experts think is decent, considering where it's marked ($24,474, ~75k miles). I think I'd like to shoot for no more than $25k, including tax + title.WebFire;1708549 wrote:Damn nice truck. Ditch the cap though (obvi personal preference).

I would offer 20k and then they will come back at you at 23500. At this point you have two decisions you can accept that or tell them that you want it at 22 out the door. Im guessing they will drop it to 23 maybe 22500 but either way its a win win for you.ernest_t_bass;1708602 wrote:This is more than likely the one we will be buying. It's already $2k under "retail."mcburg93;1708636 wrote:I would offer 20k and then they will come back at you at 23500. Pay that price if you are satisfied with it you are the one buying the truck. I like to haggle so it would not bug me asking the 20k -
ernest_t_bass
I figure walking out the door at $25k, that brings the truck down to what, $23k?mcburg93;1708641 wrote:Pay that price if you are satisfied with it you are the one buying the truck. I like to haggle so it would not bug me asking the 20k -

I would bet you can get it for 23 out the door. Most dealerships have a lot of room to work with on used vehicles. -

redrocketFor darn near 50 years now, my profession requires a 4X4 unit. I have been through them all, and overall the Ford has been the best. Don't think you can go wrong with one.

rrfanErnst,
If you want me to hook you up with a guy that owns three dealerships I would be happy to. He has destroyed prices for my friends for years. Good guy. If you don't buy the one you are looking at or want to talk to him PM me and I will give you his name and number. -

Personally I think you can get it a tad lower. (imo) Only an idiot would pay retail for a car.ernest_t_bass;1708637 wrote:It's already $2k under "retail."
Ford makes like a billion F150's every month....check out Indy, C-bus, everywhere within 150 or so miles.
If you go to the dealer make an offer, show what you've found for a better deal.
Most importantly be willing to walk out of the dealership. More than likely you'll get a call back shortly or they'll stop ya before you leave.
Agree with every1 recommending the F150. -
