The Trayvon case took a good year to die out and I imagine this is the same. MB such an innocent sweet baby.

this bitch is probably crazy, but she wasn't the only witness to support Wilson's testimony.

and I will raise...
Prosecutors called Witness 22 to explain that she lied to investigators and never witnessed the incident.

"You gave two statements, were both of those statements true?" a prosecutor asked.

"No," she answered. "I just felt like I want to be part of something ... I didn't see what I told the FBI what (sic) I saw."

She said she was actually passing along what her boyfriend told her he saw.

Prosecutors also played the grand jury a 10-minute police interview with a man who claimed to have witnessed the shooting. Then they played a phone call in which the man admitted that he actually had not seen the incident.

Another witness insisted another officer was with Wilson at the time of the shooting. (By all other accounts, Wilson was the only officer present when he shot Brown).

This witness described having a clear view of what transpired despite there being a building between the witness' location and where the incident took place.

"We all know people can't see around corners, right?" the prosecutor asked.

Oberlin denies student protesters' petition to get 'relief' on their semester grades for skipping classes to go and protest.

http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2014/12/oberlin_college_denies_request.html

I'm pleasantly surprised this ultra liberal college did not grant the request.
Protest all you want, but I would not expect to get a free pass out of classes or at your job.

If people are affected or traumatized by the shooting of two criminals, they can go die in a hole. Racism is real, this is not it. GFY.
• sleeper
Also comparing the shooting of two thug criminals to 9/11 or the slaughter of a bunch of children is a joke. Fuck 'em.

Reading this letter, the first thing that struck me is how this student tries to push all the guilt buttons...so common a tactic in the "victimhood" agenda. It is as if claiming to be a victim (of racism, sexism or whatever du jour), now matter how obscure, automatically absolves you of any responsibility or consequences of your actions. Somehow, students here think that by some remote connection to an event, that they can embark upon an action and suffer no consequences....as if the event gives them a" get out of class free" card. Actions have sequelea....actions have consequences. That is real life, and it is your personal responsibility to accept what happens (good or bad)as a result of the course of action that you chose to pursue.

When a cop pulls his gun and shoots someone, you can be sure he knows that he will be put on leave, and internal affairs will investigate him and the justification for his action, and that investigation could lead to the loss of his job, end his career, or even criminal charges. Cops, I think, understand and accept that pretty well. You can be sure, with all the recent goings-on that any white cop who shoots a person of color will suffer that scrutiny 10 fold....and they accept that.
But somehow, responsibility for ones action doesn't apply to victims...even to those "victims" so traumatized at Oberlin college. Somebody else is to take responsibility for their missing class without the express approval of the teacher FIRST.
And if they laid down in the street and blocked traffic to "protest" and got hurt...it would be the driver's fault, not theirs....or if they got hurt while causing a disturbance, it would be the city's fault for not affording them protection. Such is the belief of 'victims" everywhere.

BUT, IN REALITY.....
You can't rob a store or sell illegal stuff and not expect there to be consequences. You can't leave your child unsupervised at a park waving around a realistic looking gun and not expect consequences. You can't disrespect an officer's orders, or threaten him or resist arrest without realizing that there are going to be consequences. Actions lead to sequelae that sometimes can't be controlled or have unfortunate outcomes.

The best part about the email is the time stamps. The professor replied 1 minute later. Lol. Not sure that's enough time to actually read what she wrote.

While that letter sounds like the typical naive, white-guilt liberal dipshit...it's a little too over-the-top with the whole ""I'm a good, non-racist middle class white person and it's not at all condescending for me to help you because you need help and can't help yourself".

I thought it was interesting that he read and responded ONE minute after the email was received. Conceivable he read the first line or two, typed "no" and hit send...but dubious.

I just said the same thing. She put all that thought and time into that, and his quick response basically tells her that drivel can't possibly be worth reading.

From newsnet 5.com
Here is the actual petition sent to the Oberlin Administration, and the college president's response....
The petition reads:
I would really like to see the normal grading system suspended for this semester and replaced with a no-fail mercy period. Administrators should require professors to exercise complete flexibility in what students are saying they can produce academically.
Require that every professor listen to what their students are saying and if that means rather than writing a paper students instead meet with their professor to simply discuss in groups their paper topics or if tests are taken collectively with professors there are ways to make sure we are learning what we are supposed to be learning in ways that are not so taxing in times like this.
Students in this moment should have complete access to alternative modes of learning while we process what's happening. Basically, no student especially black students and students of color should be failing a class this semester. A "C" should be the lowest grade students can receive this semester. Professors should be required to work with students, who would otherwise be at risk of failing, to create alternate means of accessing knowledge.
Krislov responded and said:
I deeply appreciate the issues that you have raised, especially the primary concern that we do everything possible to support and, most importantly, retain every member of the Oberlin College community during this incredibly difficult time.
Please know that I have taken your request to suspend grading protocols seriously and that I have considered your petition carefully with the academic deans. We are in firm agreement that suspending grading protocols is not the way to achieve our shared goal of ensuring that students have every opportunity and resource to succeed. Rather, the following are in place to support our students at this time:
1. Students are encouraged to confer with their individual faculty members about concerns and challenges they are experiencing in completing outstanding work. Deans in both the College and Conservatory, who last week asked for continued faculty support and understanding, are available to assist and support students and faculty.
2. As stated in the memo sent to students and faculty last week, the offices of the Dean of Studies and the Conservatory Associate Dean for Student Academic Affairs are exercising additional flexibility in administering requests for incompletes. We are extending the deadlines for incomplete requests until the last day of finals.
3. The deadline for changing from a letter grade to Pass/No Pass will be extended to the last day of finals.
4. The offices of the Dean of Studies and the Conservatory Associate Dean for Student Academic Affairs will work with students through the academic standing process to ensure that appeals provide an opportunity to demonstrate the impact of these events on individual student progress.
5. Numerous offices and resources--including the Multicultural Resource Center, Class Deans, Office of the Dean of Students, Counseling, ResEd, Student Academic Services, academic advisors, and others—are available to support students and faculty.
To reiterate: we are firmly committed to supporting students in their health, well being, and academic success

I got that too about the letter. It was hilarious how smug the person came off as being with his, "I'm not having troubles, but I can see these people are, so let's all help the poor widdle folk out!"

And one more thing. This person might be the asshole left-wing version of CC's asshole right-wing persona. "...as a white, middle class person, I have to privilege to step away..." Lol.

That guy supposedly killed himself. I'm going to guess he was a "little off" and the two grand jury cases probably didn't make a difference.
