Hard to Believe It Was Five Years Ago Today...

These days, there are thousands of artists all producing high quality music with multiple distributions channels that dwarf MJ at his best. This is simply a broken comparison at best. I stand by my statement that Jackson's music would go nowhere if he was born 30 years later.
Shit music is shit music no matter when it's produced. Youtube, spotify, and all of the bandcamps and soundclouds of today may mean that the pool of raw talent grows but so does the shit. Exponentially. Well produced bubble gum pop will always have an audience and to think a completely new group of MJ listeners won't go for a typical 4/4 verse-chorus-bridge structure is completely overrating the ear of an average listener.

The instrumental on Smooth Criminal is badass.

I mean good Lord, I challenge you to play the best of MJ against the best of Derulo (his two singles...) and tell me that you won't like MJ's better. Hell, at least pick Justin Timberlake or Usher as a viable opponent. Timberlake's 20/20 Experience is a fantastic pop album.
His argument isn't so much that Derulo is good but that MJ is overrated.

It's not Wiggle, that's for sure.

I was interning in LA when he died. For his viewing the staples center had a random raffle to give away tickets. I was hoping to be selected so I could have sold two tickets.
I'm thinking I could've have sold them for 1k each easily. So many Jackson wackos, especially on LA.

I haven't any basis but I bet you could've sold them a good but higher than that.

It is one of those moments I remember exactly where I'm was at and what I was doing.

Tell me more about how competition makes things worse...

However, the #1s, the 100 million records sold, the records...none of that compares to "Talk dirty to me"...yea...right.

Jason Derulo realizes that the masses have crowned MJ and wants their money. Have you ever listened to ANY news conference? They don't say what they really want to say; they just give whatever the media wants to hear.

Right because I'm sure MJ pioneered the moon walk and didn't learn it from professional dancers.

Just stop you're embarrassing yourself. Show me the professional dancer that created that dance move. I know you're crushing on Derulo hard but dude will be just as significant as Milli Vanilli in ten years.

In what fantasy world do musicians also choreograph the dance moves to their own song? LOL.

MJ isn't special. You are just delusional.

History of MJ's 'signature' move. LOL.

Tl;dr: He didn't pioneer it; he stole it from other people. Surprise surprise!

The guy that says that Jason Derulo is good has called me delusional. Now that's priceless. There are a few singers that choreograph their own dance moves. Hell, Chris Brown is a better entertainer than Derulo. GFOH with that auto tune garbage.

The auto-tune garbage is currently out-selling MJ's classics. Sorry that no one enjoys your old boring music from a pedo these days.

I never said he pioneered it or came up with it you did. You said he got it from a choreographer and you pretty much proved yourself wrong lol. Keep failing at this it's cracking me up. I'm not even a MJ fan I just like calling you out on your bullshit troll job.

It's pointless to argue with someone who doesn't know what a choreographer does. It's not like MJ came up with the dance move and asked for it to be inserted into his song dances; his choreographer plucked it from someone else and used it with MJ and MJ was the first to show it off on TV. Wow. Such legendary! He's really a pioneer and created the moonwalk. SMH. Only stupid people actually believe this; if I were you I would be embarrassed to be lumped in with that crowd.

Listen to the song. It's terrible. I don't really care if that opinion is funny or not, the song is at the top of songs I think are overrated and overplayed.

I never said any of the above nor do I give a shit about it. Derulo is auto tuned garbage. How many #1 hits has he had? The dude that is creaming his pants over this Derulo joke is calling someone stupid? Priceless

It's too competitive of a music market these days to reach #1 without significant amounts of hype. MJ would be a blip on the smallest of radars if Thriller was released in this era. It only exists now as nostalgia from a bunch of old farts who think early 70's electric keyboard music is all the rave!

Dude just stfu you're sounding more and more stupid as the thread continues. I'm still in my 20's I rarely listened to MJ but I know he's better than Derulo. Hell he was better as a child than Derulo is now lol. Dude sung a song about a fuckin rat and it was #1. Mean while Derulo has the garbage rapper 2 Chains on his Talk Dirty single. Hilarious
