Which sports...that you didn't play

  • Ironman92
Would you have been pretty good at....and/or been pretty cruddy at?

I played baseball and golf all thru school, basketball 1/2 way thru

I think I would've been a pretty good tennis player and I know I would've been terrible at XC, soccer and probably wrestling.

    Did football, basketball, and track.

I've always been told I look like a baseball player, whatever that means.
  • OSH
Volleyball, never really had the chance to play, but I think I'd be alright. I was told the football coaches wanted me to play in high school and would've helped the team out.

I am AWFUL at golf (if one can call it a sport). I love wrestling, but was terrible when I quit after 5 years (in 4th grade)...wish I could've been good at it.

I played soccer for years. I also played baseball for 13 years, terrible hitter but was good defensively -- always started in the field, but was DH'd for in high school.

I would suck at wrestling and hockey. Volleyball is for hot chicks in tight pants.

Wouldve been a good WR in football.

    Played about every other sport.

I only played soccer in high school.

I would have have been a good wrestler. I only lost twice in 8th grade. I also should have have ran track and cross country. Another soccer player got top 6 in the 100 and I could consistently beat him in sprints. I was also a decent long distance runner and probably would have counted for the varsity cc team as probably their 4th or 5th runner. I was a great outfielder in baseball but not much of a hater when I quit freshmen year.

i would have been to small for football until probably my senior year. I was also a horrible shooter in basketball.

We didn't have a football team, but I could have been a decent receiver or DB. Soccer is the only sport I never could have been good at, I think.

High school I did football, track, baseball and basketball for a year.

I would have been decent had I stuck with basketball.

I also think I would have done well in wrestling. I participated for a year when I was like 10. Around my junior year I pinned one of our state qualifiers out in the yard in a minute or less with no real clue what I was doing....so if I'd had some training, I might have been pretty good.

Soccer and hockey. I did play soccer growing up and scored a shit ton, but gave it up for football and golf right before high school. Hockey I'm pretty damn good in for someone who's never played organized. Also I'm actually picking up curling really well

I ran cross country/track from middle school through college. I played basketball for a year in HS as well.

I would have sucked at Hockey/Football just because of how small I was. Also I was always terrible at Volleyball.

I always got told I'd be good at wrestling but never gave it a shot. I think I could have been good at tennis/soccer but my HS didn't have either so I never played them until I got older. I was a good baseball player kinda reget somedays not trying to do both it and track in HS.

Golf. Tried to play a little bit after I graduated but I have too much of a baseball swing!
Local place had a 9 hole course around their fitness club, a Par 3 and was the only place I could ever play.
Even got a hole in one on a hole tha was like 90 yards or so on a shitty shot.

Football, Basketball, Wrestling, Track (sprinter), Baseball, Boxing.. most of my youthful days Football, Wrestling and Track, Basketball in high school

Tennis ... I started play tennis in my mid 30's was pretty good for my age, if given the opportunity in high school I would have been very good at tennis…
Fencing … I would have been good at it also..
Hockey .. love the contact, speed of the game … would have given up Football for Hockey if it would have been a option

Cross Country … long distance running sucks...
Swimming ... I can swim but never really had a interest in swimming ... seems boring
now Water Polo is cool.. but would not have been very good at it .. to much like distance running, treading water...

Same. I played football and baseball but I think I would have done well in wrestling. I weighed about 155 and had our schools 189 lb on his back multiple times one day after he was talking trash to baseball players while setting up the mats in gym. He was a district qualifier in D2.

Played soccer and tennis. I would have been awful football since i'm only 5'8 150 and don't like the idea of being hit. I also wouldn't be good at Basketball (see height/weight).

I think I would have been a really good fencer as dad and uncle were both national champions in it (my dad in both team and individual), and I probably could have learned from them.

    Link?

The only sport I think I would have been good at was football as a RB or option QB, or worst case a fullback. RB would probably have been my position as I have powerful legs and good top end speed, so could have been a bowling ball type of RB, plus I think I would have had a high football IQ. My high schools football team sucked though so it wouldn't have been worth the pounding.

Baseball I would have been terrible in. Basketball I was a lights out shooter but couldn't dribble or pass and had a terrible basketball IQ, plus being 5' 8'' doesn't help.

Pretty sure I would've sucked at Soccer because I'm not a *****. Better than average at virtually everything else, including the bedroom sports (at least thats what the babes say...)

edit: I just called him, it was the 1971-1974 OSU team that won the big 10, and my dad won an individual medal (I was wrong about the team, my bad) in foil. My uncle won the B1Gs sometime in the 60s in Sabre. I'm sure its on OSU's website somewhere. They are being honored at an OSU basketball game this upcoming year.

What was your Dad's fencing specialty OB1...chain link or picket?

Lol. My house has a white picket fence, so probably that.

    This is false.

Baseball - Was always one of the better players on my teams growing up, then I had an asshole coach that just ruined my desire to play the game. So when JH came, I chose track. Played baseball Senior year and I was all-state, 1st team all nation, and first round draft pick in the 2000 MLB draft. I turned it all down to major in education at BGSU. It's all true except the bolded part.
