No, your comment was about how you only judge individuals and not races but yet you support laws that only exist because we label all whites as racist and the only way to protect poor minorities is to give them benefits based on their skin color.Gblock;1610092 wrote:weve covered that already...im not rehashing that. this topic was about sterling -
Gblockdont get me wrong if he said the n word or made a joke about fried chicken or something i wouldnt see it as a big deal. but to me his comments show a complete lack of respect for the race of blacks as being a lower class than others which is the part that bothers me

steubbigredWhat everybody should realize is all people have prejudices . White, black, hispanic, asian, jewish, etc. Respect is needed in the work place.

how do i support it? my opinion was that the amount of jobs or help blacks may get from it is extremely insignificant at this point of the number of jobs given out. i dont know anyone who ever got a job from being black although im sure you have examples. if anything this shows why it may be necessary because those who are in power like sterling in all industries may feel the same way. while his players and his coach may be black, im quite sure during his life he did whatever he could to not hire blacks. this cant be an isolated incident.sleeper;1610096 wrote:No, your comment was about how you only judge individuals and not races but yet you support laws that only exist because we label all whites as racist and the only way to protect poor minorities is to give them benefits based on their skin color.
either way AA has nothing to do with this OP -

Good point. You would be hard to find a single person who hasn't made some sort of joke or off colored comment at some point in they're life. Some people grow up and learn to think differently and some don't .like_that;1610090 wrote:What if you made that joke privately and your gf records it and sends it to TMZ? -

It's kind of hard to treat all races as equal when some are given preferential treatment due to the color of their skin. It seems today's minorities have strayed away from MLK's "not by skin color, but content of character" and are more interested in using race to derive more benefits and punish those who dare speak poorly about their own heritage. Is Sterling an idiot? Yes. Does his opinion really matter? No. When will the race baiters grow up and stop making race an issue every second of every day?steubbigred;1610099 wrote:What everybody should realize is all people have prejudices . It's the same shit with Trevon Martin. DUDE WAS A THUG; who cares what color skin he has or the color of his murderer? The reality is, race baiters love this because it gives them an opportunity to make race and issue and derive themselves more benefits. Pretty sick. -

Why does there have to be any ethic history month?KB0938;1610098 wrote:You sound like one of those idiots on social media who cry all february that theres not a white history month
This information should be taught in the schools and lots of facts online, many ethic social organization have lesson on their culture and heritage ..... why then is their one group that has it's own history month? -

I'm sick of the race baiters also but race relations need to be talked about with respect. Travon Martin was a thug and people used him as a martyr. The dude that shot him was a POS punk who should have minded his own business, but he was attacked and Florida gun laws allow him to protect himself. A trial should have never ensued.sleeper;1610104 wrote:It's kind of hard to treat all races as equal when some are given preferential treatment due to the color of their skin. You do realize Sterling has many blacks in his front office positions correct? And are you implying that no black owners discriminate against white people? Again, the generalizations you make against whites are apparent despite you claims of judging individuals only.Gblock;1610100 wrote:how do i support it? my opinion was that the amount of jobs or help blacks may get from it is extremely insignificant at this point of the number of jobs given out. i dont know anyone who ever got a job from being black although im sure you have examples. if anything this shows why it may be necessary because those who are in power like sterling in all industries may feel the same way. while his players and his coach may be black, im quite sure during his life he did whatever he could to not hire blacks. this cant be an isolated incident.

And yes, I have plenty of examples of blacks being given jobs solely because they are black. I remember distinctly talking about candidates after a meeting and we had it whittled down to 3 candidates. 1 black, 2 whites. They all had great interviews but the grades and schools from the two whites were far superior to the black man. My boss would never admit this publicly but there's no doubt in my mind we hired the black guy because of his skin color and because our team is mostly white people. Guess who now is the most incompetent member on our team despite working here longer than most of us? -

It's about as hard as being black but instead of crying about it and blaming others I work hard and enjoy the adversity. It's an attitude; when are black people going to get this attitude instead of looking for handouts and handups?Gblock;1610110 wrote:im sorry its so hard to be white sleeper...keep your head up man the struggle is real!!!! -

Yes but in a free market those who chose to hire based on a non-value added reason like skin color will lose in the long run because their competition is willing to focus on value added qualities only. Sterling, if he did deny the best candidate regardless of race a position, would be at a competitive disadvantage. We don't need discrimination laws; we already have a free market. Discrimination laws just place people who don't belong in positions they aren't qualified to mitigate lawsuits the company might face for hiring the best people regardless of skin color. Absolutely stupid.Gblock;1610111 wrote:i was speaking more to the many businesses he ran before he became an nba owner. no way he was an equal opportunity employer in my opinion
