The only times I find ESPN to not be unwatchable are during those 3-ish hour blocks when they're airing a specific sporting event. And then, I'm usually muting or changing the channel during things like halftime.

ESPN is killing me. I think it is becoming the HLN network for men.

Good reason to avoid ESPN and CNN with this garbage.

I love it . It's real reality TV and it gives the younger people a real look at how MANY NBA and other pro franchise owners think. Sterling is more of the norm than people will concede.

    Eh.
I imagine most people dont give a fuck what these old crusty guys think.
and it is horrible tv. I imagine most of the people making a huge deal out of it are doing so because they feel if they dont then they may be considered to think like him. Is what he said bad? YEah, but shit..it is just words.

The only "reality" tv that is worth watching is the actual games themselves.

On what do you base this theory?

I imagine maybe because most owners are old white dudes so old white dudes = racist clowns.

I would hope it's based on something a little bit less silly than that.

Sitting in many bars and listening to the older generation talk. Many people think and talk like him. People are saying he is hateful and all that . I have worked at many places where bosses used racial epithets or made jokes . It's normal. I don't put Sterling in the hateful catigory. He is ignorant ,and prejudice and he may even have a "plantation type mentality" but he isn't a klansman or a nazi or radical muslim type. Those people do nothing but hate. He is a old rich man who has nothing but yes people around him . I find it enlightening to listen to him . We can learn from this.

Interesting, but I would say that my experience has been that's there's a correlation between one's success and one's enlightenment on issues like these.

I would call it more eye opening than enlightening, but I do agree that we can learn from this, at least in some capacity.

I'm just glad I am a Steelers and Penguins fan because our ownership is without question great and they do great things for all people. As far as the Donald Sterling types in the world, they have no business owning a pro sports franchise. Guys like that are like the old country club types that didn't allow blacks to join.

Huh? You mean supporting a rapist, an Osama lover, and a cheating coach makes them great people?

And if their ownership is "great" why is the pens' GM under fire?

Or the fact they almost moved the team before Crosby arrived...

Won't be long now before ESPN replaces Linda Cohn with Mary Hart. That organization not only jumped the shark but the entire fucking ocean. I hate it and only watch live sporting events and 30 For 30s at this point, you know, actual sports-related programming.

As for Donald Sterling, I do want to comment on one thing regarding the infamous phone call. It's obvious that when Sterling commented that he did not want V. Stiviano to bring black guys to his games that he was speaking from a place of jealousy, and not a specific hatred of African American men. Simply put, Donald Sterling didn't want Magic Johnson's dick in the same building as his girlfriend (or Matt Kemp's, for that matter). Why Anderson Cooper and others can't wrap their heads around that is beyond me.

so what . Did not happen and we have 3 cups along with 5 world series for the Bucs and 6 super bowl titles for the Mighty Steelers . Eastern Ohio supports the Pittsburgh teams . Keep hating.

And LOL at a boycott being led by LeBron James if Donald Sterling is still at the helm of the team at the start of next season. There will be no boycott led by LeBron. LeBron and the rest of the NBA will be playing basketball come hell or high water in October. The media is full of fucking idiots.

Of course they will. The Clippers, despite being so offended and so pro-active about racism in this country are still playing and collecting their checks even if it means their racist owners gets a championship ring.

Money buys everything. People knew Sterling was an asshole before he got caught on tape.
