Any trips/vacations planned this year?

  • justincredible
Just curious where everyone is headed this year for leisure time.

I was in the process of planning a canoe trip to the Boundary Waters in MN but the guy I was going with got nailed by the IRS so he's not sure if he can afford the trip now.

My backup plan for that is to head down with my wife's family to the beach house they rented in Ocean Isles, NC but stop by for a few days in Asheville for some backpacking/camping on my way there. They usually do Ocean City, NJ but, thank god, decided to stop going to that shit hole of a state.

We are also trying to swing a trip to Denver for the Reds/Rockies series.

Memorial Day weekend headed to Nags Head, will be the third year in a row.

Then 2 weekends later I'm headed back down to NC for the US Open, Father's Day weekend.

Then pretty much every weekend or there abouts, we will spend at Indian Lake with the lady's parents.

Only dog friendly hotels for now, so Dorset (definitely) and maybe Normandy and Paris but that is indefinite. In US going to the Greenbriar for a wedding....LOL perhaps it is the same one with Automatik!

2nd weekend in September. It looks like nice place for a wedding and somewhat of a bitch to get to without a car. I may have to rent.

Ah, the wedding we are attending is in October, nice couple and probably the last wedding we'll go to for many years! Beautiful place, but it is definitely difficult to get to....we haven't decided if we should get flights into Columbus or Richmond, or other alternatives.

Chicago June 7-10. Going to the Cubs game on 6/8 and the White Sox game on 6/9.

Nashville for a wedding the weekend of 10/10.

Also planning a few camping trips this summer. Most likely East Harbor for 4th of July weekend, including a trip to Cedar Point. Would also like to get to Put in Bay for a weekend.

I am hoping to do some kind of trip for my 30th birthday next January. A good friend and I are a week apart, so we may try to coordinate one.

First time since 98 we aren't going down to the Outer Banks. Just going to do a bunch of long weekend stints this summer. Lots of Lake action.

"Nashville for a wedding the weekend of 10/10."

Two words: Nashville rocks. You will have such a great time.

I am excited about it! We will get there on Friday around midnight and the wedding is not until Sunday. So we have Saturday to do whatever we want.

Probably Georgia. We plan to go every summer to visit family. Probably head up to Lake Michigan a few times for a day trip.

Don't know yet but I will be doing something June 20-23 (1 year wedding anniversary). I'll probably take her down to the beach.
Going to Nashville Sept 13-14 for the Cowboys game on the 14th...
Also thinking of doing a cruise or go to Vegas for Halloween.
And I'm sure there will be a few trips back up to Ohio to visit friends/family. Labor Day weekend for sure.
Also maybe planning a trip to Atlanta for July 4th with some friends since they are from Arizona and are going to the Braves/Dbacks game.

Depends on where your guys' hotel is, but cabs are relatively inexpensive, and there will be great music from downtown down Broadway to the West End and Elliston Place. An not just country music (an unfortunate stereotype) - just really talented musicians. Loved Nashville, would definitely move back there if they'd have us - which they won't!

Mostly weekend trips this summer. I'm saving up time off for a trip to turkey next year.

I have soft plans to head to Chicago and Boston for weekend trips. Also the gf's parents own a house on the jersey shore, so I'm sure I will be there often.

Nashville for us as well, end of September.

Driving to Columbus, hooking up the camper and taking it to Kelley's Island for 5 days.

After I pay off all credit cards next year (that's where all my coaching, reffing, and tax returns go), I plan on making a BIG trip every other year. First will be Disney World, then the next I'd like to look at taking the family out of the country, like a Mediterranean Cruise or something.
