Gblockd lazz i would wait until they send u a bill which i think they eventually will and then just pay it....
i once got a bill for 27 cents and they used 50 cent to mail it to me lol
sports and lady...hr block will charge you based on what you make and it will be over 100 bucks most likely...last time i used them it was 150...i usually use turbo tax which is around 50 ish when its all said and done...this year i am going to try free tax usa...my gf used it last year and paid 6 dollars and got her refund in 7 days. if you have a simple return u can use it. very similar to turbotax -
wildcats20Hrblock is free for a simple return online. Try that out.

Is/Was that your permanent address (listed on drivers license or something like that)?dlazz;1570920 wrote:I don't give a fuck about the $11. I just don't know why they think I owe them that form. Something seems wrong.
Similar thing happened to me at osu. Didn't owe any money in cleveland, but still had to file the form and submit the reasoning the local tax didn't apply to my income. -

Yeah, that's what happened.Mulva;1571188 wrote:Is/Was that your permanent address (listed on drivers license or something like that)?

Was it a pain in the ass to get straightened out? -

Nah. They sent the return form with their letter. I just mailed it back and never heard from them again. I would think you can probably get the $11 waived if you care enough to fight it. No way there should be a penalty on $0 owed.dlazz;1571211 wrote:Yeah, that's what happened.

probably not worth it for you and most people. Not sure if you itemize or take the standard deduction. Could be losing some if you just take the standard, but I doubt it. The real savings comes in planning ahead, not necessarily compliance.SportsAndLady;1571037 wrote:I'm gonna hijack this thread right quick
I have a very simply tax return. Make my base, extra 10k or so in commission, less than a grand into my 401k, less than a grand into a few stocks.
Last year I filed my tax return on turbotax and had no problem...but I always see these things from HRblock and other tax companies, "Zomg! You could be losing MILLIONS if you don't have a professional file it!"
That does not pertain to me, correct? For someone with a basic tax return, I should save myself the $50 that HR Block will ask, and just continue to do it myself, right? -

Can you explain this? By planning ahead do you mean things like 401k contribution and portfolio management (i.e. selling losers to offset gains, waiting to get capital gains instead of ordinary)Pick6;1571468 wrote:probably not worth it for you and most people. I broke down and called. They want proof of residency (lease agreement). Of course, they want it faxed.Mulva;1571223 wrote:Nah. They sent the return form with their letter. I used HR Block once, and never went back. They charged me $90 to do the exact same thing you do when using TurboTax or any other program. Lady asked a bunch of questions when prompted, and I handed her all tax forms. That was it.SportsAndLady;1571037 wrote:I'm gonna hijack this thread right quick

Welp, it's turning out to be a pain in the ass. I emailed the leasing company where I had my two leases (I lived in two separate apartments in 2010), and they sent the leasing agreements which are worthless because:Mulva;1571223 wrote:Nah. 1) The address on each lease just has the street and house number. No zip or city.
2) The dates on the first lease are "incorrect". We signed our initial lease from Autumn 2008 -> Summer 2009, but then renewed it Spring 2009. The dates on the lease they sent just say Autumn 2008 -> Summer 2009
My other options are to get an old utility bill (almost impossible and they weren't in my name anyway) or a credit card statement.
Trying the credit card option on Monday, I guess. I'm sure they'll reject it for some damn reason. -

derricklongmire708Hi Dlaz, Sometimes we have that kind of situation in our company that is not easy to solve. And all we can do is to hire some accounting services. Then they surely fix our problem.
