Movie Shooting Ex-Cop

The legal gun carrier has rules and class he must attend before a permit is granted. Do we need class and lesson for cell users now... Let be honest we all have complained of cell phone abuse in public.

This does justify a shooting but there is a argument of what happen after two wrongs don't make it right
The victim did nothing wrong. He was checking in on his kid at the babysitter during the previews

I can't remember the last time I went to the movies and was genuinely disturbed by someone else. Movie prices are too expensive to go and not pay attention because you're dicking around with your phone. The half-dozen commercials they show before the movie warning to not use your phone is more annoying than anyone actually using it.

Belly wants to openly carry guns everywhere. Anything where a person carrying a gun out does something wrong/psychotic with said gun will be spun in order to fit his viewpoint.

Therefore, the shooter is a good person in the wrong. And the victim was at least partially deserving of it. Maybe even moreso than the OC Standard of 5%.

I know that any time someone gives you hell about your grammar & spelling, your reaction is to just preach about how great you otherwise are and make fun of us. But no one can comprehend any of this. Take two minutes to go back and look at your post so someone can actually understand you and perhaps have a debate without wondering what the hell you're trying to say.

Belly please disregard the pompous Lowry...most of us understand you perfectly fine. We may not agree with you but your posts are entertaining and valued. Can't say the same about a single thing Lowry had ever uttered.
  • Classyposter58
Haha Belly may be the biggest moron of all time! You serious man? You can't just shoot people for whatever you want

Note to all Belly has made a typo mistake please see bold type.

Are there signs in theater that cell phone should be turn off before entering the theater viewing area?
That call should have been made outside the viewing area... The start to a bad ending.

Are retired police officers required to do the same courses as the public? I was always under the assumption that police officers are granted the ability to carry without going through the same courses as the general public. I thought the same occurred for military personnel.

Well, there is the minor distinction of the two people in the wrong, the guy on his phone ranks about a .1 on a scale of 100, while the shooter ranks more along the lines of 90/100. With "shooting random people on top of the phone guy" equaling 100.

Not sure about retired police but I think military have to take CCW classes. I would assume that retired police still have to register that they are carring weapon. So maybe they don't do the classes be still register as CCW.

Two good individuals goes to the movie. Light goes down announcing to turn off cell phone. Old guy calls out young guy about his usage of phone. Young guy being a good dad justifies his behavior to call daughter. Old guy mention that rules are rules after asking nicely to turn off phone. Please note that this is only previews and the announcement was made old guy again states only what is the rules. Young guy out with wife is now embarrassed and annoyed and to demonstrate superiorly over old guy and defenseless old guy proceeds to push what he justified as being a good dad over rules the theater / cell phone respect other right in public place. This old guy just did not pull out a 38, blow this young guy way on the sound of the keypad now did he? There was a leading up to the end event. Young guy under estimated old guy potential.
Young guy get aggressive ( young want to impress wife and justify his behavior is now going to tell old guy what right) aggressiveness increases because old guy is just old... Surprise old guy doesn't coward frustrating young guy more to the point old police guy is being physically threaten ... Boom bad day both wrong but both justified action.

what happen not right but even on the OC the mentality to disrespect older members is a good indicator of what happen at the movies.....

You just made up a completely different situation to fit your views, congrats.
  • TedSheckler
Belly, you're really a dope trying to justify this guy's use of force. The old guy was irrational. He used excessive force and deserves getting charged with murder.

You think getting popcorn thrown at you is being physically threatening? Remind me not to step in your lawn, you might think I'm being threatening.

There is just no way any sane individual can call this shooting a "justified action", regardless of how aggressive the younger guy was (unless he got to the point where he handed the phone to the wife, leapt over "x" rows of seats and started beating the living shit out of the guy with the gun).

A justified action in the event that the guy wanted the phone shut off and the other guy wasn't would be to inform theater employees -- not instigate a scenario where he wound up murdering someone over a minor annoyance.

And this is why some people disagree with you when you start talking about how you want to openly wear a gun in public and stuff like this. If you think this was a justifiable action, how are others to know you won't be doing the same thing because someone sorta kinda annoyed you and then didn't immediately back down and bow to your authority?

Private businesses can still restrict firearms for retired and off duty officers under the LEOSA. If it was posted that they prohibit firearms on the premises, then he was carrying illegally.

Does Florida consider it illegally carrying a concealed weapon or trespassing? Its trespassing in Ohio, but only on your second offense.
