  To answer the OP's question, the only difference would be if we could take better vacations/holidays and spend disposable money on that - otherwise there wouldn't be a difference. We aren't car people, we aren't house people (in fact, I got to the point I hated our house), so generally speaking no, there wouldn't be a difference between making $5M or $10M/year
