How long do you stay mad?

The UF game still pisses me off because of how we lost. From the coaches to the players, we came out unfocused and flat. I also sucks because I pretty much chalked up a W, not really watching much of Florida that year and being unaware of their killer Dline.

    Why?

Sport is whatever they want it to be in their lives. Can't it be whatever I want it be in mine?

    It's just entertainment. Nothing more.

Sure can, and I am not arguing that. Please direct this post to belly who says it is a waste of human energy. Thanks.

If you think it is just entertainment, then so be it, but billions of people disagree with you. So many examples around the world where sports help bring a high sense of morale, pride, and nationalism.

Depends. If the team is actually still in the hunt, and serious contenders, then I am pissed for a day or two. If it is like this year, I just shrug off the steelers losses.

I didn't state your argument at all. I asked you a question and I appreciate your willingness to have answered it.

It may indeed be a waste of human energy to Belly. Are you suggesting it's not a waste to him?

I haven't disputed any such statement that increased morale, pride and nationalism can result from athletic competition. Why would you assume that I have??? Many forms of entertainment can create such a sense. Sport is one of them.

I said direct the message to belly, because he made it seem like his view is the only right view hope this help con alma.

I don't get mad any more at sports losses. Disappointed, yes; but actual anger, no. I'm a pretty mellow guy. Might get fired up, but that's more adrenaline than anger.

The closest to "mad" I think I've gotten in a long time is more along the short-term "YOU DUMB FUCK!" moment behind the wheel that's usually forgotten almost as soon as it happens.

There's no reason for me to direct it to Belly. If you are interested in doing so, I hope you direct one to him. I was interested in your opinion regarding his ability to believe his opinion is right. If he didn't believe it was correct would he really have that opinion??

Ill be upset while I am still in front of the TV watching. As soon as I leave the room/go do something else I am over it.

The only games that will stick with me are Indiana Basketball games in the B1G Tourney or NCAA Tourney. Regular season games are just games like the others. But late season games I will be upset about for a long time. But not angry, more Ill actually look back for a long time and dissect what went wrong. The anger is still gone almost immediately after I turn the TV off.

For the record, I cant wait for Rec to chime in on this thread. Im not sure how that guy hasnt had a heart attack or stroke from all the anger he has built up for certain sports figures and teams as well as his own teams fuck ups.

I'm a jackass while watching the game and sometimes it sticks around a bit but usually over once I believe the game is over.

I prefer just getting flat out beat 35-13 than the nail-biting, screaming losses.

When the other team is simply better...it bothers me very little.

I think that Steelers/Titans playoff loss and the ridiculous Tebow playoff loss bothered me the most and last the longest....but mainly because I thought they had a chance those years to take it all and I thought we were the better team but with stupid, uncharacteristic mistakes.

I've not been bothered by a Reds playoff series loss in my life that lasted beyond the eliminating game....I always feel the better team won/advanced.

John Cooper games got me pretty good.

Ironman02 gets very salty for Browns/UNC happenings.

First of all I highly doubt you dropped $500 in Indy so that's a lie...but...I'll be pissed about Meyer trying to "out - coach" Dantonio on the 4th & 1 call until whenever he can somehow redeem himself.

Especially if it is regarding Australian athletes.

I don't ever get mad now (used to get furious up until soph year of college), but I just get bummed out and kind of anti-social after a big loss. MSU this past weekend for example. But unless it's that big of a game (and few are) I'm generally over it in 5 minutes.

Troy Smith lost millions of dollars on that loss. It wasn't just obvious he was out of shape, it was obvious he wasn't the type of leader that would get back in shape, which is why he is Canada now.

That was also the first knock on Tressel - to let a team like that get out of hand was very poor coaching.

Yeah, not buying this bs at all. Troy simply isn't a NFL caliber QB.

Last time a loss bothered me much was the Texas game at the Shoe. Had one of their 2% types sitting directly in front of us. Hated the loss less than the fact that this jerk got enjoyment out of the game.

I kinda agree, but there are always rumors about him being "blackballed" by nfl teams....curious as to if it is true and what he did.

The world series loss in 97 and the osu loss against Florida are the two that still bug me. I still think OSU is the better team, which makes me insane probably lol

2003 Cubs meltdown? I'll get over that if the Cubs ever get that close to the World Series again (AKA- I'll never get over that)

Any other game? I'm over it usually within a day.

Even if we won, I still don't think Smith makes it in the NFL.

Yeah, but he was still in the NFL. He had his chance, and is now in Canada (he was a backup at one point). With how depleted the NFL is at the QB position, he would have been given a call at this point, especially Cleveland considering his home town ties.

Hey great to see some of you mofos are finally coming around to acknowledging what I've been saying about TWHPIH since he tankd the FL game.
