What was the last movie you watched and how would you rate it?

  • friendfromlowry
    Ted 2 - 8/10.
  • Terry_Tate
Jurassic World - 8/10. Nostalgia factor probably gave it a 1-1.5 point boost, but I really enjoyed it.

    Let's Be Cops: 4/10

The casting was okay. The writing was not.

Went to the drive in tonight for $6 saw Jurrasic World and Ted 2.
    JW -8
    Ted 2 - 7

Was pretty funny hearing the Jurassic song in both movies though.

Just watched American sniper. Was a good movie, but once again ruined by having read the book. Focused way too much on the other sniper, and most no mention of his continued theme that our governments dumb ass rules of engagement. He repeatedly said he could have saved way more American lives if it weren't for that.

Off topic but this was a pretty cool mashup of Avengers and Wizard of Oz.

    Saw Ted 2 last night.

It was actually pretty good. Much better than I expected. Not quite sure why there were 4-5 kids in there around the age of 10 but hey...

Saw Jurassic World last night. 7.5/10. I really liked it. Had no problems with it being "too corny", etc. I loved all of the nods to the original, and Christ Pratt could get it...OBVIOUSLY.

..and forgot to mentio about Ted2 after Fabs post...was interesting to hear the Jurassic Park/World music in it!

The CREED movie coming out this fall. Looks pretty good. Seems to be copying a bit from the early rocky movies, but still will go see it.

Their parents are morons. When Saw III came out, some guy in front of us had his little kids in the theater with him. Of course I was a moron too for paying to see that movie.

Trainwreck - 8.5/10. Loved it. I am a huge Bill Hader fan, and I really like Amy Schumer, so I knew I would enjoy it. I even thought Lebron was good.

I watched two fucked up old cult movies over the weekend.

Harold & Maude - mehhh...not really into that type of humor, but I can appreciate it. 5/10
Blue Velvet - this one is bizarre, but I enjoyed it. Typical David Lynch film. Dennis Hopper's character gave me nightmares. 6/10

Rumor has it LeBron doesn't have much screen time. Not surprised, really, but they sure did market it like he was a major actor for this film.

HEINEKIN?!?!? FUCK THAT SHIT! PABST BLUE RIBBON!!!!

Or however it was phrased; been about 20 years since I've seen it, lol.

Antman- typical cookie cutter superhero movie. Characters about as deep as a puddle, plot ludicrous, action/special effects on point. 4.5/10

I actually thought he had a pretty good amount. Definitely more in the beginning and middle, not much in the end. But it was plenty, IMO. He isn't an actor. No need for him to have a major part.

    Watched Terminator:Genisys last night.

To be honest it was REALLY good. It made up for the terrible 4th (Salvation) and mediocre 3rd (Judgment Day?).

If you loved the original 2 Terminator movies, you will LOVE this one as well. Obviously the plot has a LOT of similarities to the original terminator if you know the background of this one.

I would give it an 8/10. 10/10 in the first half, and maybe 7/10 in the 2nd, but the 2nd half got more weight in my rating since it was the main plot variance from the original movie.

EDIT: If it has been awhile since you saw the first two, I would recommend watching them before going to see this one. It will make this one much more enjoyable (things from the first two that are in this one, certain lines, who the Terminators/Kyle Reese got their clothes from when they came back in time, etc).

Is there an actual reason why they spelled genesis wrong? If not, I refuse to watch it.

    Spy - 9/10.

I don't care if her schtick is getting old, Melissa McCarthy is just fucking funny. Jason Statham's character sealed the deal though.

Melissa McCarthy is annoying. I also dislike people who turn bring fat into a monetary gain. It's one thing to get out of shape for a role. It's another to get roles solely because you're out of shape.
