Scarlet_BuckeyeAnyone know where I can catch Rise of the Planet of the Apes? I'd like to see that one before catching this latest one. I don't believe it's on Netflix or Crackle, correct?

When my wife and I saw a preview for that, she said it looked like shit before I could. So don't worry about me.thavoice;1636574 wrote:Dont let your wive's/gf/mistresses drag you to Tammy.

Also, what Durkie said. -
bigdaddy2003Just finished Eternal Sunshine. It was pretty good.

BORIStheCrusherWatched the documentary Dear Zachary yesterday. Was good (8/10), but also the most upsetting thing I've watched in my life. Unsure if I would recommend watching.

Mohican00American Hustle - pretty good. 7-7.5/10

bigdaddy2003I'm 21 mins into Cloud Atlas and I just can't get interested in it. Will it get better?

You lasted 10 minutes longer than I did. I tend to like trippy, deep-thought films but the Wachowski siblings burned me out with the Matrix sequels. Trippiness for trippiness sake isn't necessarily enjoyable. There are fantastic films in the genre, like 12 Monkeys and Brazil, but couldn't get into Cloud Atlas.bigdaddy2003;1636981 wrote:I'm 21 mins into Cloud Atlas and I just can't get interested in it. BTW, this has been a pretty meaty-oaker Summer movie season. We're going to see Guardians of the Galaxy but other than that there hasn't been much to be excited about. -

I'm going to try to make it to the 30 min mark but I don't think I can watch 2 hours and 45 mins of this. The previews made it look much more interesting.Manhattan Buckeye;1636987 wrote:You lasted 10 minutes longer than I did. And yes this has been a rough year for movies. -
vball10setDjango Unchained--not what I was expecting, but I was entertained...7/10

BR1986FBOff topic (a little) but..... I hear on the radio this morning that a couple in North Carolina took their pet apes to a viewing of the new Planet of the Apes movie. The apes actually seemed to enjoy the movie and were actually rooting for the humans. After the movie, local citizens were "concerned" that the people brought the apes to the movie because they were going to "learn from the movie" and "orchestrate an uprising against the humans." You can't fix stupid.....

I'm not really sure, but not this. This had a Blazing Saddles meets The Departed entertainment feel to it, which was great. I guess I thought it was going to be more of a serious Roots thing with the emphasis being the conflict between a slave and his master...I'm glad I was wrong.Scarlet_Buckeye;1637177 wrote:Not what you expected? friendfromlowryDid anyone see Bad Words with Jason Bateman? His movies are usually decent but I can't seem to pull the trigger on this one.

I'm allowed to have an opinion, right? It shouldn't matter to you how the fuck I view a movie, right? smfhScarlet_Buckeye;1637237 wrote:You do know who Quentin Tarantino is... right? You have seen his films before... right? -

True, and I guess I shouldn't have said "serious". It just wasn't what I expected, that's all...and I liked that.Laley23;1637245 wrote:Just look at the director. Tarantino doesn't try and trick you -
