What was the last movie you watched and how would you rate it?

I just caught the Bad Grandpa .5 on MTV. It was basically all the scenes that didn't make it into the movie. Thought it was pretty good.gut;1632456 wrote:I'm not sure. The bonus material I was referring to was a stand-alone 30 minute segment -
bigdaddy2003RIPD, not a very good flick but entertaining.

SportsAndLadyMud 7/10

bigdaddy2003I'm about to watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind for the first time.

I really liked that movie. Saw it before Dallas Buyers and True Detective, so it was my first glimpse of MM really acting. Probably a reason why I was higher on in then a 7.SportsAndLady;1635878 wrote:Mud 7/10 -

I took my boys to watch the new Transformers (they are boys, so they loved it) but quite honestly the Transformers movies just keep getting worse and worse. This was by far the worst of the 4.bigdaddy2003;1632115 wrote:Just caught Transformers. I was disappointed. It has obvious flaws in the cinematic arena but even entertainment wise it was just too long in some spots. It just drug on and I am a Mark Wahlberg guy but damn. The other Transformers werent that long were they?
I would give it a 3/10 and 2 of those 3 were just for the special effects still being pretty good. Story/movie plot only it sucked completely. -

Not only was MM great in that movie, but the movie and the book were some of the best ever. That was one of the few movies that actually captured the book that it was made after REALLY well.Fab4Runner;1635912 wrote:Uh, A Time to Kill. -

Correct. I should have said after all his fluff movies recently. I liked it a lot because he was acting in it, then he came out with 2 more great projects, where, if I watched them in revers order, Mud wouldn't have been the best and not rated as high as I had.Fab4Runner;1635912 wrote:Uh, A Time to Kill. -
Raw Dawgin' itFinally saw Lone Survivor. Thought it was awesome, had to turn it off when they started showing family pictures and wedding videos, I'm too macho to cry at a movie.

I knew what you meant. I actually know a lot of people who haven't even seen A Time to Kill, so I like to remind people.Laley23;1635934 wrote:Correct. Just watched this Saturday night as well. Having read the book I knew what was coming. Pretty good.Raw Dawgin' it;1635937 wrote:Finally saw Lone Survivor. Thought it was awesome, had to turn it off when they started showing family pictures and wedding videos, I'm too macho to cry at a movie. -

Honestly, I wish it wasn't Marky Mark that was the survivor. On the other hand, if I knew he wasn't, I would've been anxiously waiting for him to die in the movieiclfan2;1635957 wrote:Just watched this Saturday night as well. Having read the book I knew what was coming. Pretty good. -
jmogLone Survivor was definitely a great movie, I would say 8 or 9/10.

bigdaddy2003Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, it was pretty damn good.

Read nothing but high praise for it. Definitely looking forward to seeing it at some point.bigdaddy2003;1636016 wrote:Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, it was pretty damn good.
If it's similar CGI as the last installment, a minor nitpick for me is I'm really not a fan of the CGI apes. Something about the choices they made in the design that I struggle to suspend disbelief that I'm seeing CGI. -
HelloAgainAnyone see Boyhood yet? It's getting as good a reviews as I've ever heard of a film getting.
-
bigdaddy2003I understand what you are saying about the CGI apes but it doesn't bother me much, and I doubt any theater near me will be playing Boyhood. I do like the concept though.

bigdaddy2003Nice, my cousin said it's trippy.
I tried watching Cloud Atlas earlier. I got 13 mins in and I had to stop it. It's not keeping my attention yet. -

Each time I watched it hated Marky Mark more and more. Wish they had someone else who would have played that part.Raw Dawgin' it;1635961 wrote:Honestly, I wish it wasn't Marky Mark that was the survivor. The dude who played Murphy was fantastic, same with the one who portrayed Axelson.
Of course they hollywood up the movie from the book. One thing that bothers me, and I am not sure why, is that at teh beginning they show him on the medevac and then flash back to when it happened and it says THREE DAYS BEFORE when in actuality it was over a week from the battle till his rescue. Saw a number of differences from the book, most I understood why they did it, but that part i didnt understand.
Also liked the little tribute to Marc Lee with his Memorial patch they showed briefly. At first I thought it was a fuck up as he did a few years later in Iraq but ML added it in the movie to honor his buddy.
