Bout died in pain....rushed to ER....put on good meds that made me happy and sleepy (2 of the 7 dwarfs).....passed kidney stone that evening....thanked The Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Smaller ones can be dealt with but painful....really big ones have to be lasered or something.

    I've had kidney beans.

Yep-woke up with the worst pain of my life. Went to the emergency room and they kept me for a day pumping pain meds into me. Sent me home with a prescription for Oxycodone. As hard as I tried-5 days later it still hadn't passed, I was still in pain and on my 3rd refill of pills, so I went back to the hospital and they removed it with a surgical procedure.

    Only one time, thank God.

The one I had started out like this. It moved from back to front and thought my insides were being ripped a part. They gave me percs and did an ultra sound and said it should pass in a few days. They told to fish it out of the toilet when i pass it so they could do some tests on it. I did not do that part, was not putting my hand in bloody piss water to find a small pebble.

I have not had one and don't plan on having one.

They told me to piss through a coffee filter to see if I could catch it. I did and the small size of it (the stone, that is!) made me wonder how something that small could cause so much pain. It did have some jagged edges, though. The analysis showed that it was very high in ascorbic acid.

Kidney Stones are for poor people.

Passed 1 in August and another 2 weeks ago.

2 separate trips to the ER to get hopped up on Morphine and still was in pain.

They Suck big time. Drink like 2 gallons of water a day as it is the only way to flush them out if they are small enough to pass.

I'm drinking a crap load of water mixed with Apple Cider Vinegar per the request of my doctor.

    I predict pain.

Karma. Only bad people get kidney stones.
  • Tiernan
Karma Sleepy...kidney stones are a Boomer malady. You think it hurts now just wait until you start to pass that little bastard.

Poor renal function = poor people. Way to go.
  • Ironman92
Hope it passes and doesn't settle in an area....then it gets complicated for you.

Wiki says 54 people died from kidney stone related complications in 2011...good luck. Hee hee hee

Must suck to use Wikipedia to provide useless statistics from almost three years ago. But then again, no one expects much from you. Good work buddy.

Had them in college. Woke up in the middle of the night thinking that someone had slipped into my room and ripped out my organs and then left me to die. Had to pull over on the freeway three or four times on the way to the hospital to vomit plasma and blood. At the hospital, I discovered the stones were complicated by a rare case of pancreatitus, which can be fatal. At the pain's peak, I would have been at peace with dying.

    Enjoy.
