I only tipped the most obvious of developments.

But you seem like a smart enough guy to eventually learn to avoid threads discussing a show when you haven't seen the most recent episode.
  • TedSheckler
I have half of a brain, so I avoided this thread until I watched the episode.

I'm going to miss Eddie. He was the only one to make me lol in the show, except maybe when Mickey Doyle laughs.

He didn't make me laugh, either. But great point - I never noticed this show is almost humorless (well, other than Al Capone!)
  • SportsAndLady
I don't think the show is humorless. I find myself laughing multiple points throughout the show.

The show wasn't ruined for me since I did avoid the thread until I watched it. Some of the OCers aren't as keen as I am though.

    Hope this helps

I'm disappointed in the lack of tits.
  • TedSheckler
I'll take lack of tits if it means lack of Margaret. So far, so good.

    Fair enough

I suppose as this show loosely follows history, it's all got to come crashing down at some point. But it's really, really hard to root for that geekie FBI tool. He's practically the Fed version of Al Capone. Maybe it's too soon (since Capone has not even taken control yet) and the geek gets a pine box soon.

And Dr. Narcisse....just wrap that up already. Just such a distraction, like an almost entirely separate show-within-the-show.

Yeah both of those new characters are kind of annoying. Narcisse's character was okay at first, but now it's just too annoying. We get it, you're an existential, deep guy. NEXT.

Glad to see Chalky come out of that alive...fuck that other guy. Go against Chalkie? Come on now

Hell of an episode last night.

I thought the last few episodes were kind of dragging, but it was all worth it as this season's final 2 episodes are going to be great.

I didn't see that coming with Capone at all - not unexpected, but they set it up pretty well given how little time they really spent on that aspect.

If Narcisse wants to kill Chalky, he's going to need to recruit an innocent looking, 8-yr old future gangbanger. :)

That "crooked" FBI agent could take an interesting direction. Hoover seems very dismissive of him and appears to have little interest in his case. But it wouldn't make sense for him to become a gangster since they've already done that with van Alden

Yeah I was thinking about him turning (your last paragraph). It wouldn't really make much sense but if he's gonna put in all that work for Hoover to just dismiss the work, why not make a little cash on the side and do what everyone else basically does.

Also, I don't see chalky lasting very much longer. I think nucky will kill him. Call it a hunch.

That whole bit was very interesting. When Narcisse sat down at that meeting Nucky was absolutely floored. He had no idea Narcisse was such a major player (probably thought he was the Bronx version of Chalky).

But rather than kill Chalky, Nucky tried to run a scam. Now I really don't know what he'll do since it backfired. Plus, Chalky is going to think Nucky planned that, so you might very well be right that Nucky has no other option. And in case we thought Nucky was going soft, they reminded us how ruthless he can be with that scene with Lansky

Maybe Nucky and that fed could arrange to bust Narcisse, which is a win-win for both of them. But I doubt Nucky will walk away from that money, although I think it's an old-school mafia thing to want nothing to do with drugs (which BE has touched upon).

Van Alden is another fun one. There is speculation his character is going to become Buggs Moran (who's real name was George, and that appears to be the sole basis for the speculation). But my theory is his character is morphing to be based on that of Frank Nitti, who was Capone's enforcer and a top lieutenant.

Keep in mind that Chalky has now befriended Richard (but is clueless as to the man's real skills)

I hope they don't kill Chalky off. I think (and hope) Nucky comes to Chalky's aid much like Chalky did for Nucky last season and takes down that fucker Narcisse. I'd assume that other Heroine dealer (name slips my mind) will be taken down as well. Seemed like they were preparing for another war at the end of the episode will all of the guys at Nucky's. I just see no reason for Nucky not to maintain his loyalty to Chalky. The guys that Nucky has killed are the ones who have fucked him over in one way or another.

    Reps for "The Wire" reference.

No chatter after last nights episode? I thought Ron Livingston's acting was pretty poor up until this one. Then it alllllllll fell into place.
  • Pick6
i have no clue who ron livingston is.

But it seems chalky wants to take down Nucky (and rightfully so), obvious communication between the two that needs done.
    Eli can GFH.

Something was definitely off about him. I had assumed he was some sort of con man. But the "poor acting" is actually an excellent job of portraying a layman pretending to be someone they're not.

I'm ecstatic that Gillian is gone.

It seems Nucky actually does want out. But Eli almost shit himself when Nucky indicated Eli would take over one day. Still not sure what Nucky's endgame is here - at that point he pretty much knew Eli was the mole.
  • SportsAndLady
Yeah Nucky defnitely knows Eli is the rat.

I am predicting Nucky to kill Eli in the next episode, and somehow blame Eli for Chalky, to gain Chalky's trust back.

Everyone is starting to think Nucky is goody-goody, when we all forget that he's a pretty big scumbag.
