Flying for first time tomorrow... Any advice??
-
Big_Mirg_ZHSI will be flying for the first time tomorrow. Any advice. Will also be taking my golf clubs. Any advice for packing those?
-
TedShecklerEat some carbs. Your arms might get tired.
-
gerb131Shrink wrap the clubs before you leave and 2 shots before flying always. Gum for takeoff if your ears pop. Other than that don't die!
-
thavoiceNot really. Just make sure you know the rules for what you are allowed to take. Also, make sure you take the batteries out of your vibrator so it doesn't turn on and get you held up. They say get there so Fn early but I never do and it seems to be just fine. Have a fully charged cell battery because at times it can be hard to find an outlet open in the airport.

TedSheckler-Get there at least 6 hours early for security.
-Make sure you pack all your full size shampoo and conditioner bottles in your carry-on
-Pack yourself a couple 20oz. waters or sodas in your carry-on
-Wear boots that are difficult to take off.
-Pile all your stuff in one tray in security. Keys, wallet, belt, shoes, laptop, etc.
-When on the plane, put your seat back, first thing.
-After landing, always try to be the first one off the plane. It's a fun game. -

Perhaps they cancel each other out?Heretic;1489490 wrote:So he has two Muslims on his flight? -
Manhattan BuckeyeAdvice? Have a travel pack for the clubs and don't sweat it. Flying is easier than being on a bus or subway. 99% of the time you don't feel anything, just sit back and read a book or watch movies on your ipad, and hopefully the stewardesses are hot.

The most stressful thing about flying is the security checkpoint when you're flying the first time. It's very fast paced if it's crowded. Also, don't check a suitcase if you don't have to. You are allowed a carry-on, plus a backpack you can keep at your seat. Probably should've shipped your clubs to your destination via FedEx or UPS ahead of time, but hopefully they make it to your destination with you!Big_Mirg_ZHS;1489468 wrote:I will be flying for the first time tomorrow. BRFGet one of those clubs that you can adjust to any angle.

OSHALWAYS ask for the full can of pop or juice. Never settle for that little plastic cup.
Flying is easy. I enjoy it much more than any other means of travel, pretty much. -

That 1% can really suck sometimes.Manhattan Buckeye;1489497 wrote: Flying is easier than being on a bus or subway. 99% of the time you don't feel anything -
Belly35No farting on the plane .... only fart in that long walk way to the plane

sportchamppsAirports are the best place for alcohol consumption. They always have a deal where you buy a 22 oz beer and you can get a shot for $1.
-
HitsRusI'll be a bit serious...enjoy your flight and enjoy the time you saved by not driving. Too many people I know are afraid to fly, even though statistically it is the safest way to travel.

raiderbuck-Pack light (if possible).
-Arrive early, 2 hours depending on where you are going/leaving from.
-Throw your keys, wallet, cell phone, watch, etc.. into your carry on bag before going through security. That way, you won't have to scramble to remove all metal objects before going through the metal detector. You can put them in the little bins, but I find it easier to just remove them and toss them into my bag while waiting in line. Security line is a breeze at that point. -

Eh, I don't really think I would consider emptying out your pockets having to scramble.raiderbuck;1489536 wrote:-Pack light (if possible).

gutLiquids & gels go in a clear plastic bag. I think the limit is still 3oz, and standard size deodorant seems to qualify. But for toothpaste and hairproducts you want to make sure you have qualifying sizes.
It's a real nuisance to have to pick-up toiletries on the road (and if the hotel has these in a concierge service they will gouge you horribly). Lots of places used to offer travel size toothpaste, but I haven't seen that in a while (margin margin margin!).
The hotel will have complementary soap and shampoo for you. A lot of times the toilet paper is not particularly bowel friendly, but I don't know if you can pack a roll or two in your bag or not. -

I just throw it in the bin with my shoes, belt, and toiletry baggie. I worry sometimes with my wallet and cash in the clip, but I just keep a close eye on it.thavoice;1489537 wrote:Eh, I don't really think I would consider emptying out your pockets having to scramble. -

Damn. Any particular bar? I'd usually go to the 94th Aero Squadron but may hafta find a cool spot inside the C-bus airport.sportchampps;1489529 wrote:Airports are the best place for alcohol consumption. They always have a deal where you buy a 22 oz beer and you can get a shot for $1.
