We're all sepia? Sepia is considered a shade of brown not a range of colors. I can't find a good "image" for the color sepia, but I can tell you we all aren't sepia.Belly35;1487238 wrote:I like, to use the word "Sepia" which is a much better wording discription in terms for the range of defined color spectrum.
Nobody is really Black and the same for White ... we are all "Sepia" really
But, in general you might have an underlying point that is good. It would be better if people would look to see how we're alike instead of different sometimes. Differences are important, but so are similarities, we are still all human and we shouldn't hate or act in a prejudiced way towards someone because of the color of their skin. -

I agree...But its perfectly fine to do it based upon religious preference or which CFB team you support.Fly4Fun;1487263 wrote:, we are still all human and we shouldn't hate or act in a prejudiced way towards someone because of the color of their skin. -

Considering things you've said recently I'm assuming you're serious about religious preferences and completely disagree as those in general are based upon where you are born (something not in your control). But that's also the reason that I particularly don't buy into a specific religion. I'm not opposed to the idea, but in general it's a lot of cultural perpetuation to instill social norms into children.Tiernan;1487334 wrote:I agree...But its perfectly fine to do it based upon religious preference or which CFB team you support.
As far as CFB teams, sure, hate away. -

yeah imo most of the most staunch racist are actually the ones who have never even been around or got to know any black people besides what they see in movies or the news which does a good job of sensationalizing the worst examples of blackssteubbigred;1487074 wrote:That is a good point and true ,from my perspective. -

I realize that what I have said disturbs your world view, and most importantly of how you view yourself but at least you realize this. But if this is true, where is the outrage? ...and why are they pandered to while others of differing views are silenced/denied or ignored.Only thing you've got right is that Sharpton and Jesse are ridiculous.

SageRacists are probably my favorite people to fuck with. My favorite are the ones who assume I share their views because I'm white.

GoPensMy dad was an old racist dinosaur until my brother (who's single by the way) adopted 6 black children. The 4 and 5 year olds hang all over him and can't wait to go to grandmas and grandpas. And he can't wait for them to visit. I never thought he'd change but if my father can change..there's hope.

believerBeing racist is hardly an "old people" or "racist dinosaur" thing.
There are plenty of people - black & white - in the self-professed "enlightened and all-inclusive" 20 and 30 something generations who would make a Klansman blush.
Every generation thinks it's superior to the previous generation.
20 years from now all of you will be laughing at the next generation of "enlightened" fucktards as they label your naive asses "dinosaurs".
STFU already. -

A neighbor of mine growing up served in the Pacific theater in World War II and was unapologetically anti Asian and in particular anti Japanese. One day, while visiting at my parents house my son, who worked for a Japanese company, met him and was treated to a diatribe of anti asian rhetoric. No doubt, this man's strong feelings, born of negative experiences was passed to his children. These kinds of feelings deeply instilled in youth, are not going to be legislated away.
So how do I respond to it?
I usually try to convert them to libertarianism, or conservatism, or at least to the Republican party. If they are a member of said groups, then I ask them to be true and hold to the values they profess. It is more difficult with Dems and Libs....they really are the worst kind of racist...wolves in sheep's clothing....and some don't even realize it. Divide, parse, section, us all into little groups, for their financial and political gain....all the while pretending, intentionally or unintentionally, to be 'friends'. Alan West and other black conservatives have alluded to this...and of course, get shouted down or ostracized by the media or sychophant black "leadership" who make their living keeping 'their people' ensnared in a web of dependency. Instead of Condi Rice, Colin Powell, Thomas Sowell, Hermain Caine, Clarence Thomas...we get Jesse and Al Sharpton and the incessant drumbeat around the Trevon Martin case. I suspect when subsequent generations look at this period they will discuss the contrdiction of what we said and legislated, and what we did in making sure that racism wasn't eradicated, but perpetuated and institutionalized in government and media. -

Your made up conservative meme that you're parroting about liberals enjoyably holding teh blAck MaN d0Wn is not disturbing anybody's views but bringing the lulz. White liberals don't disown black conservatives. The malicious white liberal doesn't intervene and say "Now listen here young african-american fellow...Allen West is an Uncle Tom. You need to vote for democrat!"HitsRus;1487425 wrote:I realize that what I have said disturbs your world view, and most importantly of how you view yourself but at least you realize this. No. I'm sorry. The black community (and the Asian community, the Jewish Community, etc.) that overwhelmingly supports the goals of liberalism is capable of deciding all on their own that they might generally reject the views espoused by the conservatives you listed without this silly caricature of white liberals that the talk radio crowd holds as gospel. This meme is a perfect example of the Paranoid Style personified...the evil white democrats seducing blacks into destruction.
Heated exaggeration, suspicion and conspiratorial fantasy.

oh yes...Boat shoes...bringing the 'lulz'. I'm well aware of the left's attempts to paint people who believe in empowerment( vs dependence) as right wing nut jobs and conspiracy theorist...No conspiracy theories here ...just a simple case of following the money and the votes. For 50 years the message of Dr. King has been bastardized by white liberals with the complicity of 'community leadership'. Gone are his dreams of a colorless society and men being judged by their character not the color of their skin....as we divide/parse/section people into minority groups, advantaging some disadvantaging others.... Giving to some groups, taking from others. It's not a conspiracy, it's an evolution of policy that has institutionalized the differerences between people, not based on their character, but by the group they are lumped into.
Of course, 'lulz'. I expect nothing else from you. -

Manhattan Buckeye"it's a de-evolution of policy"
FIFY. The truth is that racial relations have deteriorated in the last 30 years or so, and especially in the last few years. Why?
I strongly recommend that people do charitable work in inner cities and see what the problems are. There isn't just one but many problems, however they start in two areas: (i) the collapse of the family and (ii) the inability to have an efficient public school system.
We need to stop listening to eggheaded limousine liberals from Marin and Montgomery County that cry for more funding for their research, yet go back to their gated communities and withdraw themselves from reality.
Sorry for the Italics.

No, what makes this view exhibit A of right-wing paranoia is the idea that it is White Liberalz who've seduced black-americans into voting for dependency rather than voting for the true patriots who believe in real empowerment. Black Americans are perfectly capable of choosing for themselves what party and what candidates they think are offering proposals that are in their best interest. Encapsulated within your worldview is a pathetic view of black Americans as well as a fanatical view of white liberals.HitsRus;1488441 wrote:oh yes...Boat shoes...bringing the 'lulz'. It is additionally laughable to suggest that modern day conservatism carries the mantle of MLK who was way more socialist, if not outrigh a communist, than anybody today with influence in the American Left. I bet you want a classeless society too, eh??? lol
Furthermore, the octegenarians in the Greatest Generation parsed/divided/sectionalized groups of people as much if not more so than we do...they just did it in a negative way...instead of a positive way. Chinatown's, little Italy's, etc all existed long before the attack of the p0lit1caL c0rrect Librulz out to destory Murica. Differences based on race and national origin have long been institutionalized...It's just much more positive when we celebrate our unique cultures now than it used to be.

Race-Relations aren't worse than they were in the 80's. This is just a sampling but is a good one.Manhattan Buckeye;1488725 wrote:"it's a de-evolution of policy"

Even in the 80's less than half of Americans supported interracial marriage. "Old Racist Dinosaurs" were a lot closer to mainstream.
