    Yeah, no:
[LEFT]the Kinect will always be on, and it will have a high-definition camera that lets it see everything that is happening in the room in front of it, at all times.

    Fuck that

Do you have a camera on your cell phone?

Not always on, pointing at me.

How do you know your camera isn't on? Just because the app isn't open doesn't mean it ain't on.

I guess I don't understand the argument from you Webfire..

On one hand, you have in writing that you are agreeing to be recorded basically, and you have a counter point of a cell phone that has no such Terms of Condition and would be a conspiracy theory.

If the argument was apples to apples I would understand but it's not. Is the current kinect capable of doin the same thing? I don't know, but you aren't agreeing to it in the Terms & Conditions if it is.

In this case you actually are. Why is this hard to comprehend?

I thought he was bitching about the physical hardware. I don't know the terms and conditions. If that's the case, I'll rescind my comments.

I dont even use any of the media shit on the xbox now and because i already have a surround sound/entertainment system, i can switch to live tv with one press of a button. the more and more they move away from gaming the less likely i am to buy the xbox one.

Just put a post it note over the lens problem solved
  • Hb31187
Lol I highly highly doubt the camera is on at all times, and if it is.......turn the kinect around, problem solved. But I doubt this is the case, and the websites making those statements have nothing to back it up besides hearsay. Ill wait until everything is officially out from Microsoft and Sony before I make my decision

Set it behind the console pointing at the back wall. Though it has to be plugged in, you'll never need it pointing outward so just bury it behind the console

Well, Xbox posted a lot of details on the 'internet connection required' and used games issues, and everybody is losing their mind online:

    http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/1ftw2q/a_concise_list_of_the_all_the_problems_with_the/

    I
have to admit that I'm surprised they are going through with this, and I definitely am leaning towards PS4 at this point, unless they also pull some of this kind of crap.

I don't care about the constant internet connection stuff personally, but the lack of support of the used game market and reselling games is a big deal for me...I have a 2 year old and 1 year old, and I don't play games a ton any more. When I do, I tend to pick them up from Amazon Warehouse or Ebay for $20-30, beat them, then sell them right back to Amazon for usually pretty close to what I paid. Last time I paid $60 for a game was probably Skryim, which was well worth it, and I will probably be picking up The Last of Us on Ps3 next week, for $60. Also, it seems that most reports are saying that the PS4 is quite a bit more powerful than the Xbox One in the hardware department, which seems like it might have more staying more 5-10 years from now...

We'll see what happens at E3 next week, but Microsoft doesn't seem to be doing anything right at this point. One thing that could happen is Sony announces pretty much all of the same restrictions, then the focus shifts to PS4, and MS sneaks right past them and is the 'cool' choice again.

If you asked me 1 year ago if I'd be buying the next MS console or Sony console, I would have easily answered MS, but not now.

Uhmmmmm... the PS3 was head & shoulders above the Xbox 360, in terms of "more powerful" too. It blows my mind how Xbox is the majority and Sony is the minority.

PS3 has "more power" + free online gaming. What does Xbox 360 have? Cost-gaming online and lesser specs.

    Absolutely blows my mind...

Free doesn't mean better. Xbox also has more popular exclusives.
  • Midstate01
Sony definitely has a chance to literally steamroll over Microsoft if they don't have these same types of restrictions.
  • robj55
I think I'll stick with the Xbox regardless, familiarity and comfort level. Haven't had a playstation since about 02'.

Yes, PS3 was more powerful, but devs who were working on both systems seemed to utilize the 360 because it was easier to work with, then ported it to the PS3, making the PS3's edge in power pointless because it was not utilized in 90% of games.

PS3 exclusives, however, look amazing (like the Last of Us coming out this Friday, looks nuts).

Xbox Live is a big deal, and the real thing MS seems to be pushing...I have 360 and PS3, but I really only game on my 360, I just like Live better, more people on it, and it's only like $3 a month of if you just buy an MS 12 month card on sale for $35. But, the less I play, the more enticing PS4 becomes, because it really does add up in the long run....

360 has better save memory (or whatever it's called). Which is why games like Skyrim can wind up being virtually unplayable on the PS3 because as you find more locations and make the internal save system have to remember more and more data, it gets bogged down, making games like that more glitchy and freeze-prone. They may have found a work-around by now, but when it came out, system owners seemed to be thinking Bethesda had abandoned the PS3 because 360 and PC users were getting patches and maybe even DLC a lot sooner than they were due to those issues.

Exactly. Also, more often than not...you get what you pay for. Xbox Live > Playstation Online

It's really aggrivating when companies basically steal money from you.

Btw the new ps4 will require playstation plus to play games online so it will be like Xbox live in that way

Haha yeah sounds like that person is an idiot and extremely lazy to just continue to let it happen. I had forgotten about my renewal one year and didn't really have the money for it. When the charge came through my bank I called up live and they refunded me the charge and cancelled my account.
