The Office: Series Finale Event
-
se-alumThursday @ 8pm.
I know the show has gone downhill over the 2nd half of its run, but I still find it enjoyable. It's kinda going to suck to see it go away, though it has obviously ran its course. Anyone else looking forward to watching? -
bases_loadedI think they've done a great job the last few weeks winding it down.

I thought last week was phenomenal. They went back to what always worked....Jim/Dwight -
se-alumAgree. I think they're ending Jim and Dwights relationship perfectly.
-
Manhattan BuckeyeAs godawful as the show has been over the last few seasons, I'll give the finale a thumbs up if they give Andy Bernard the "Poochie" treatment.
-
dlazzThe Office isn't funny.
Hope this helps. -

I also agree. Even though it's been painful to watch the last few seasons, it's become such an iconic part of television over the last decade that the finale is a must watch. Also, it'll be interesting to see who they bring back to pay tribute to the series.se-alum;1442564 wrote:Agree. I think they're ending Jim and Dwights relationship perfectly. -
RedRider1Last few have been good because they're wrapping up obvious story lines and sticking to what works.

swamisezThis whole last season has been good. The minute Steve Carrell left they panicked and now its only been in this last season that they have stuck with the original formula. The Robert California thing was so dreadful.

Yes that was downright terrible. I agree this last season has been pretty decent.swamisez;1443290 wrote:This whole last season has been good. reclegend22The Office was the greatest sitcom on television for about five years. Hands down. It wasn't at that level in recent seasons, but I still prefer it over just about anything else, except for maybe Parks and Rec or Sunny.
Like House, M.D., The Office is a show I began watching around the end of high school, so it has been there through several stages of my life. Definitely makes its conclusion all the more sad. It's just strange that it's over. -
wes_mantoothI thought it was an ok finale, but more sad than funny.

It was that healthy blend of both funny and sad/poignant that made The Office the greatest show on TV at its peak. That same formula set Boy Meets World apart from any of its teenage sitcom peers in the '90s.wes_mantooth;1444142 wrote:I thought it was an ok finale, but more sad than funny. -
Laley23Never got into that show. But I just dont find Steve Carrell that funny, so that might be why.

ou1980How did the show end?

That didn't get a single mention in the retrospective that aired last night...apparently it was that bad. -

Fast forward one year. Dwight and Angela's wedding brings back all the familiar faces. Except Robert California and Michaels wife. -

It already aired, and the question was asked, so need for a "spoiler" alert -

SportsAndLadyWhy didn't Michael's wife show up? I liked her character lol

reclegend22I think that Erin was one of the funniest things about the show in recent seasons. I know some didn't like her, but I thought she was right on par with Andy, Dwight and a couple others who were pretty funny on occasion.
Did anyone here like Robert California? While the show was clearly reaching, I thought he had moments that worked. But he was nowhere near as good as some of the other guest appearances, notably Will Ferrell. The juggling scene was, IMO, one of the five best moments in the show's entire run. That was great.
