Words that need to die

This one is 3 words, but I can't stand "score the basketball". You can score, or you can shoot the basketball, but how the hell do you "score the basketball"?
You take your **** put some spit on it, and **** the **** in the ****.
Next question? -
gut
There's no need for the term, period. It's stating the obvious. Unless you're just fat - referring to a fat woman's "baby bumb" would be insulting.Fab4Runner;1401187 wrote:So when I am pregnant and my stomach starts to get larger and larger, I should refer to the bump caused by the growing baby as my pregnant? Hmmm. Okay then. -
gutI'm going to add "BFF" and "Bestie" to the list. What makes them especially egregious is the fact they are now used primarily by people tragically late to being hip.

O-TrapIt has become a spoken word: "oh-em-gee."
In fact, any audible version of "LOL" (even audibly saying "lulz") or "OMG" or even "WTF" deserves being punched in the face.
"LOL" might be the worst. If you're LOLing, then just fucking laugh! -
sportchamppsOn the soccer field I hate people using "unlucky." It wasn't unlucky you just sucked and missed the goal by 10 feet. I think it came from England because every English person I play with uses it nonstop

O-Traphaters
Shut up about having "haters" already. Sorry, but you're not important enough for people to actually hate you. Welcome to reality. The rest of us hope you'll stay for awhile. -

Dr Winston O'BoogieSome business speak terms I hate:
- Leverage as a verb. It is a noun.
- Circle back. You will discuss in the future, not circle back.
- Add value. If you say that, you're not doing it.
- Business use of the word "win". "Getting the report done today would be a huge win." Almost nothing grates on my nerves more than someone talking like this. -

It is also a verb.Main Entry: 2 leverage Function: transitive verb Inflected Form(s): leveraged; leverag·ing Date: 1957 1 : to provide (as a corporation) or supplement (as money) with leverage ; also : to enhance as if by supplying with financial leverage 2 : to use for gain : EXPLOIT <shamelessly leverage the system to their advantage — Alexander Wolff> -

What about you flaunting your Asian princesses in Hong Kong? That seemed like some unnecessary flaunting and bragging. How about you take your own advice?Manhattan Buckeye;1401416 wrote:I'm pretty sure the magazines needed her permission to post the pics, if not stage it entirely. Agree to disagree, but in our family we keep this stuff private. Congrats to her, who is the father? -

Edit - never mind, I can't. Apparently you have a full inbox. Delete that stuff, and while you're at it figure out where Hong Kong is. -

Raw Dawgin' itTo stay on thread topic, I hate when people use abbreviated words instead of the actual word. Justin made a good point with "totes," it's the worst. Also, anything Rachel Ray says.

It is, but it's generally used that way by dullards like project managers.wildcats20;1401794 wrote:It is also a verb.
