What's the worst job you ever had?

None of these jobs are worse than being a door-to-door meat salesmen.

    1. I worked 3 years running a tar kettle for a roofing company in columbus. In the summer it sucked so bad , temps around that thing would reach up to 120 degrees

    2. I used to go in and clean out and remodel repossessed mobile homes for Elsea Home Centers, The things people did to their homes after they knew they were getting kicked out were Bad. The worst one we came across had spoiled milk dumped every where and shit in the heater vents

Not a job that I work but my girlfriends son, the Baconator, works at Fresh Mark Meats in their bacon processing department.

Now I love me some bacon but I got turned off to it when he'd come home from work smelling like bacon.

Soon, the whole house smelled like bacon and the dog & cats were following him around like he was their next meal.

Never thought I would "dislike" anything about bacon but man that smell is God awful. Shit permeates his clothes to where he needs a new wardrobe. Have to wash the clothes separate from everything else.

Taught a makeup PE credit class at a Career Center in SE Ohio. Saturdays in the winter from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm....no equipment, 20 5-star jackass students and a dumbass supervisor that appeared out of nowhere like the butler on Mr. Deeds. The goal of every kid was how to sneak a cigarette....and every one of these kids had failed gym at their high school.

My first summer job was working at Taco Bell. All I did for the entire shift was wash dishes non stop. I worked there about 3 weeks then walked out one night because they wouldn't let me leave earlier to go to a party. Oh how I miss the days of no responsibility when you could just quit a job to go to a party that ended up being lame anyways.

Worked as a press operator in a car mat factory.

We'd place chunks of raw rubber into hot metal plates, close the plates like a book, hit a button, and then the plates would press together to form the mats. Plates would open up, pulled off the hot mats and stacked them. Walked back and forth in 90 degree temps covering 3 to 5 presses for 8 to 10 hours a day 6 days a week. Fumes, burns on the arms, and pay that SUCKED.

Did that for a year. The year from hell.

After reading many of these job descriptions, I now realize that I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth and still haven't put in a real days worth of work yet. I get paid way too much money to type numbers into an Excel spreadsheet and pretend I like my clients.

Worked for a General Contractor for 3 months back in 1991. (October thru December) Weather was crappy and so was the pay. ($5.00 an hour)

I worked at an asphalt company for a couple summers. The work wasnt that bad, it was the heat and the hours that really sucked. It was pretty common to work a 75-85 hour work week.

My friend loved be a debt collecter. He only did it for like 5 months because a much better paying job came along but he would come home with some good stories. He also got written up like once a month for telling people to go get a damn job and them demanding a supervisor. He loved being a dick to people and telling them they shouldn't have bought it if they couldn't make their payments. He also got huge bonuses each month because most people would pay him so he would stop calling and insulting them.

My worst job was probably Walgreens. I started before they opened the store so I had to stock everything. The problem was instead of getting boxes of items they got random pellets of unsold shit from other stores so literally each item went somewhere completely different. I worked there about 6 months and then got Mono and missed a full week. I brought in a doctors note and even went back to work a few days before the doctor recommended. The manager then informed me to help me make up for the missed hours he would schedule me to work Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Years eve as the only cashier. Since he was being a dick I worked until Christmas eve and when he called to find out where I was I told him enjoying the Holiday with my family and to mail my last paycheck. He then called back and when my mom answered He told her how irresponsible I was for missing a week of work with Mono and then quitting on Christmas Eve. She then told him how irresponsible he must be to be a 40 year old manager of a Walgreens working on Christmas Eve calling a 15 year old who the doctor said shouldn't be working to come into work. She then asked him if he would like her to drive me down there so she could really tell him what she thought and to pick up my last paycheck. He said he would just mail it.

I never really had a job that I hated. In high school i worked at the local grocery store in the evenings after school. It was mainly me and my idiot friends, and most of the older/management people had gone home for the day. I guess the worst part was working during the day when the owners were there, and you had to look busy, which was difficult.

I worked in a warehouse for 2 weeks. That shit sucked. Hated every minute of it

Worse job I've ever had was when I was 16 ...a stable boy...cleaning hay/manure out of horse stalls. You would clean the soiled hay out with a pitchfork and throw it into a wheelbarrow, then wheel it out the barn, up a huge pile of manure, and dump it over the back. It was dangerous work too...some horses didn't like you in their stalls and would kick sometimes. For this wonderful job I was paid 25 cents a stall ( this was pretty low even for 1970). I'd work 8 hours a day, and clean 32 stalls---$8.
    Shitty job for shitty pay.

I've tried 3rd shift at two different places many years ago. The work was really easy but 3rd shift sucks no matter what you are doing.
    1st shift or GTFO.

Love 3rd shift. Only one boss around instead of 5 bosses, plant manager, etc, like on 1st and 2nd shift.

True but I've also noticed if no bosses around, promotions can be harder to come by.
Years ago at a job I went quickly from working on the line to shipping department driving a fork lift, loading trucks and processing orders just because of a conversation during break with one of the big shots. If I was 2nd or 3rd I would have been stuck on the line for good.

A little brown nosing with decision makers can be a good thing.

Union job. Promotions are bid on unfortunately. Except salary of course, but no thanks.
