What happened to all the talk about having the 6 James Bonds all on stage together?!?! HUGE disappointment.

    Now that would've been cool.

I kinda thought so too. Dude couldn't slow his speech down.

Here were my takeaways from the Oscars...
    1. What was up with, like, every chick not being able to read the winner's name in the envelope? The one was REALLY bad. I forget who, exactly, it was, but it was one of the girls from Chicago. Richard Gere opened it and put it right in front of her face, and she just kinda stared at it for like 5 seconds, and then finally Queen Latifah cut in and just announced the winner. Then... it happened AGAIN. The same group announced the next winner and the same broad had the 'winner' this time, and she opened it, and had to put it right in someone else's face (think it was Richard Gere again, but can't remember). All I could think of was, "WTF?! Is this chick tripping on some drugs?"
    2. Kristen Stewart looked like... well... Kristen Stewart - i.e., a complete mess and high on something.
    3. First, let me preface I like Jennifer Lawrence... I think she's a very pretty, attractive, and nice starlet. I was surprised tho, at kind of all the pre-Oscar cocky hype/waves she had been making (Idk... maybe she thought she had zero chance of actually winning), but it felt like she was on every channel boasting about how she was a shoe-in to win best lead actress, and when she fell climbing up the stairs to accept her award, all I could think of was "justice." Sad, I know, because I do think she's normally a humble, gentle, sweet girl... but something just seemed apropo about her 'tumble.'
    4. Adele... man... that woman has some PIPES. Might be the best pure voice out there right now. Now I'm probably going to get blasted for this (especially since it was refreshing to see someone not all skeletonly gaunt like Anne Hathaway), but man is Adele "chunky." Rare you see a star quite as big as her be... well... quite as "big."
    5. The Academy botched the whole James Bond tribute thing. The best part of the "tribute" by far was Adele's performance of 'Skyfall.' Other than that, it was just very lame & weak. Really disappointed that they weren't able to get all the living James Bonds on the same stage together. Missed a golden opportunity.
    6. The little girl from Beasts of Southern Wild seems very cute and charming. I question, tho, if we'll ever see or hear from her again. She sure has that "arms flexed" pose on lockdown.
    7. So happy Christoph Waltz won best supporting actor. Yes the character was extremely similar to the one he played in Inglorious Basterds, but he was far and away the best performer in his category.
    8. Live of Pie ?! Really? I felt like that stupid movie was nominated for like every Academy Award. Good lord. I would have been PISSED had it won best picture.
    9. Argo taking home best picture, eh? .... Guess I'm going to have to check it out.
    10. Oh... also... did anyone else catch the stab that (I think it was Clooney) made at McFarlane? Something like... welll, the show was going decently alright, but then you had to completely ruin it, let's see if we can get it back on track now.." something to that effect. Does anyone else have the exact quote? I thought it was a clear shot at Seth. I'm guessing it was more than likely because Seth made a joke about Clooney earlier that was kind of an edgy comment to make.
    11. Oh!!... double also... WTF was Michelle Obama doing at the Oscars?! There was absolutely ZERO reason to have that video cameo of her. NONE. At that moment, that's when I had had enough of Oscars 2013. No need to interject politics into The Academy's. I'm quite sure there's already ENOUGH politics involved behind the scenes in determining "winners."

This. Seth made reference to Clooney's affection for "very young girls", and ole George didn't take it too well-lol

Was the movie bad? The novel was good to excellent.

I thought the movie was very well-done.

Addressing a couple of Scarlet_Buckeye's points:
#2: Kristen Stewart is an attractive girl, and maybe I'd like her more if she wasn't in the shitty Twilight movies, but I've never understood the fuss. I've seen lists where she's made top 15ish most sexy, beautiful women in the world. Nooo way should she be in that list. Anyone ever see the movie Adventureland? Her role in that is how I'd picture her if she wasn't a famous actress - kinda homely, whoreish, probably has done crack, etc.
#4: I think part of the problem is that she wears these huge dresses, too - which are big for even her.
#10: I only caught the last half, and even then it was on the background; but what I saw from McFarlene, he looked awkward. This is probably the first time I've paid attention to the Oscars, but do hosts normally come out there and poke jabs whenever they can? It seemed like he tried to insert that Family Guy humor and occasionally got some laughs. I don't pay attention to the tabloids who label him as the worst host ever. You could put anyone up there and someone will label them the worst.

Also, what's the story behind Lawrence flipping the bird in the previous picture?

Probably to the reporter who asked her whether she's worried that she may have peaked too early

Connery and Brosnan are still pissed at the Broccoli family, and were being dicks about appearing.

I was pretty bummed too....although it was fun to see Shirley Bassey. She can still kill it a 108 or however old she is.

just watched the video link...she is kinda funny, and pretty hot.

The question about peaking too early.....>WTF is up with that? Ya think if Kaepernick would have won the SB and MVP if someone would ask him if he is worried if he peaked too early?

    Stupif fucking question.

Aren't most questions stupid f****** questions? I mean, come on... let's be honest, here... when's the last time you heard a reporter/journalist ask an "intelligent" question? They're all retarded.

IMO Beasts of the Southern Wild was the best picture of the year. I seriously really liked that movie, also that guy should have won Best Director. He literally made that movie with 0 actors, and it's star was a 6 year old girl
