I love all 3 of those movies, I just didn't like The Master. Not sure what it was, I thought I was really going to enjoy it, just didn't like it.Mooney44Cards;1364863 wrote:Probably not. I bet a lot of people hated that movie. You have to know what you're getting from the movie before even seeing it. PT Anderson's movies aren't about plot, they're about character. If you're the type of person that loves great plot (the vast majority of people are like this) then a lot of PT Anderson movies aren't for you. Boogie Nights is probably his most plot-driven film (its practically a love letter to Marty Scorsese), while Magnolia, There Will Be Blood, Punch Drunk Love, and The Master are more character films where "nothing happens". I like a movie like that every once in awhile as a change of pace. PT Anderson manages to make the films absolutely gorgeous as well as squeezing amazing acting performances out of his cast.
I'm going to check out Zero Dark Thirty tonight..my gf can stay at home or come, but I'm going. -

If it helps, my lady was sure she was going to hate it and yet couldn't stop talking about it afterwards. She loved it.SportsAndLady;1365042 wrote:I love all 3 of those movies, I just didn't like The Master. Not sure what it was, I thought I was really going to enjoy it, just didn't like it.

He pretty much stole the spotlight in Django. Such an excellent performance.wes_mantooth;1364942 wrote:Yeah, I would say Waltz is the odds on favorite. -

My birthday is coming up, though and I think Mantooth is going to get me some copies of some of them as a cheap, thoughtless gift.
Nah. You are getting a roofie. -

First year in awhile I really don't know who will win. Totally up for grabs between Argo, Les Miserables, Django Unchained, Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirtykiller_ewok;1365654 wrote:Les Mis is putting in work at the Golden Globes. -
gorocks99Not a bad start. MacFarlane better than Franco and Hathaway at least

And much funnier than Billy Crystal last year. McFarlane is an excellent singer, so I'm surprised his opening didn't include more singing than it did.gorocks99;1395495 wrote:Not a bad start. MacFarlane better than Franco and Hathaway at least -
ou1980Hollywood bloggers are ripping Macfarlane right now, Deadlines Nicki Feanke saying he's the worst ever...But c'mon, this is the same guy who makes Family Guy, of course your going to have him making John Wilkes Boothe jokes and poke fun at Sally Field in the Flying Nun...

GoPensExpected so much more from the Bond salute. Very underwhelming.

"OK, here’s what really happened with this tribute to 50 years of James Bond films. Besides the fact it looks like it was edited with a blunt meat cleaver. The Academy and the show’s producers hoped to gather together all the living 007 actors. But Sean Connery refused to come because he hates the Broccoli family. Something about how he thinks they cheated him out of money he was owed. Then Pierce Brosnan refused to come because he hates the Broccoli family as well. Something about how he thinks they pulled him from the role too early. Roger Moore was dying to come because, well, he’s a sweetheart. And Daniel Craig would have come because he does what he’s told by the Broccoli family’s Eon Productions whose Bond #23 Skyfall just went through the box office global roof. So there you have it."
So there you have it. I too am disappointed. -
GoPensI kind of figured one or more of the actors couldn't or wouldn't come (mainly Connery), but that doesn't excuse the horrible editing of the clip or at least getting more songs in there. Hell I would have taken Duran Duran with A View to a Kill, or getting Paul McCartney for Live and Let Die

Classyposter58Daniel Day Lewis and Jennifer Lawrence, the favorites take home best actor and actress. Argo maybe for best picture?
-
SportsAndLadyDidn't think Lincoln would lose best picture
