The Steubenville incident v. Anonymous

  • End of Line
That is one of the most disturbing and sickening things I have ever listened to. They all deserve to rot in jail. Anon will take these fuckers down.

I thought the NYT article said that someone notified the victim's family of a youtube video talking about the rape the day after it happened, and they saved it to a flash drive and took it to the police. I don't really understand how that would be unrecoverable (assuming this is the same video).

There was no mention of taking it to the police, at least as far as I saw. It was on YouTube for about 24 hours before Westlake deleted it.

I also read something somewhere where videos and tweets were downloaded to flashdrive and taken to the police but I have read some much on this not sure where that was.

    From the story...
New York Times wrote: Within a day, a family member in town shared with the girl’s parents more disturbing visuals: a photograph posted on Instagram of their daughter who looked passed out at a party and a YouTube video of a former Steubenville baseball player talking about a rape. That former player, who graduated earlier this year, also posted on Twitter, “Song of the night is definitely Rape Me by Nirvana,” and “Some people deserve to be peed on,” which was reshared on Twitter by several people, including Mays.

The parents then notified the police and took their daughter to a hospital. At 1:38 a.m. on Aug. 14, the girl’s parents walked into the Steubenville police station with a flash drive with photographs from online, Twitter posts and the video on it.

Interesting. I recall a quote from McCafferty early on stating that they were made aware the video existed, but it was gone when they went to look for it.

Second hand info on what I heard from the local news:
Steub PD saw the video in August
Jeff Co Sheriffs Department saw the video today
Ohio Attorney General saw the video today.

Interesting, confusing, and kind of hard to believe. Even if it had been deleted by the user you would think they'd be able to pull it by placing a request with google.

Also bizarre that the AG wouldn't be more thorough. The family obviously knew the video existed if they had a copy of it. One would think that conversation might come up at some point.

My thinking is that Steub PD did not hand over/tampered with the evidence.

Abdalla is aware of all of it I'm sure. He's a huge piece of shit.

The video speaks for itself. I don't see how you can prosecute with it based upon how it was obtained. However at the very least it shows the character of the kids here. HS boys can be imbeciles for sure - and I know this because I could be one when I was that age. But never in my experience did I ever know anyone back then who expressed beliefs and a sense of humor similar to this person. He needs a serious come to Jesus and As the father of a daughter, I pray for the rescuing of his soul. This is very sad.

Found the following link to vote to have this story covered by CNN (requires you to sign up for a screen name, just need to give an e-mail address to validate):

You have to vote for this to be news? Fuck CNN and any news agency that acts this way. It's not a slam dunk or touchdown run, it's corruption and rape!
  • queencitybuckeye
Well, posting "fuck this and fuck that" will certainly help get the story the national attention it deserves. I voted, do what you want.

I'll take "missing the point" for $500, Alex.

It's about principle. Same with Anon not giving WTOV an interview last week. This is despicable. Vote to get a story as deep as this covered? Too busy sucking obamas **** to investigate a real news story? So yes, fuck CNN and any news agency that reports based on voting.

Sorry I don't share your righteous indignation over this. I'm just doing what I can to help get this tragedy covered. I'll let you have the last word on this distraction so that the topic can return to what's important.

Ohio AG getting involved is a step in the right direction. The noise is getting too loud to ignore..and that's good.

The sooner someone outside of Jefferson Co. grabs control of this investigation the better.

They've been involved. Again from the NYT article:
The special prosecutors on the case, Marianne Hemmeter and Jennifer Brumby of the Ohio Attorney General’s Crimes Against Children unit, declined to comment because the investigation was open

Nodianos is a POS, as are all the people in the video. Steubenville really disgusts me right now

I can't help but be happy that he is going down in this.
