O-TrapHere's a fun one. I was in Vegas for a marketing conference. I was going to be there for almost a week, so a coworker of mine and I ran into a little shop off the strip looking for a post card to send to my wife. As I'm browsing, I notice someone browsing the "get well" cards. When I look closer, I figure out it's Dennis Haysbert. I turn to my friend and say, "You're in good hands." Well it was apparently loud enough for him to hear, because without missing a beat, he goes, "Always."
Got to shake his hand. He was in town for some R & R. Nice guy. -

The proper statement wouldve been "Fuck you Jobu..." so he could say, "...I do it myself."O-Trap;1302643 wrote:Here's a fun one. I was in Vegas for a marketing conference. Eh, he looks too old and overweight. When you see him, you don't see Cerrano anymore. At least I didn't.Laley23;1302663 wrote:The proper statement wouldve been "Fuck you Jobu..." so he could say, "...I do it myself." -

lol, fair enough. I think I wouldve gone with the All State phrase than. Maybe the "Beep. Beep. Beep." From 24. -

We had family friends, think the dad was the AD at Macomber back in the day, or at the very least was the FB coach. I had met JJ his frosh year and this guy told me to get his autograph, so I did. Then I lost it/threw it away.....it was a freshman! Met him 1-2 times after that during his HS career after that. Seemed like a nice guy.BORIStheCrusher;1302604 wrote:When I was maybe 12 I saw Jimmy Jackson at Best Buy in Toledo buying a **** ton of stuff so I asked him for his autograph. He signed a small piece of paper but never said a word or looked at me; basically ignored me the best he could. -

I am pretty sure I was in this class with you. Was it fall of 2008?dlazz;1301907 wrote:I took a class with Terrelle Pryor. He was a moron. He later turned out to be an even bigger moron than I'd gathered simply by going to class.
oh, and I took a math class with three huge guys. I went home and stalked the OSU football site and discovered it was a freshman: Mike Adams.
The other two clowns I couldn't ID.
They were all drunk.
It was an 8:30am class.
They are morons though. Saw Adams and Shugarts blowin down lines all the time out at parties and bars. Idiots.
I work with OSU Athletics now though so I'm around people all the time. Kicked it with Oden a couple weeks ago downtown. Talked to Krenzell out in Grandview a couple weeks ago. Met Mike Golic and bullshitted for a while. Real nice guy. Also met Roger Goodell. After being around athletes in this setting they really don't come off as celebrities to me any more. -
reclegend22Dennis Haysbert was a boss in Heat. The best action movie in history. And the reason why robbing a Huntington's is on my bucket list. Granted, it would end with a hollow point in my forehead.

Sooo...I guess you should probably save that one for last then.reclegend22;1303033 wrote:Dennis Haysbert was a boss in Heat. The best action movie in history. And the reason why robbing a Huntington's is on my bucket list. Granted, it would end with a hollow point in my forehead. -

One of my favorites is actually Ronin. I haven't seen Heat in a long time, though. Ronin is on a fair amount, or at least I seem to catch it occasionally.reclegend22;1303033 wrote:Dennis Haysbert was a boss in Heat. The best action movie in history. I agree. I had a hard time making the connection between him, the All-State commercials and Cerrano.O-Trap;1302671 wrote:Eh, he looks too old and overweight. When you see him, you don't see Cerrano anymore. At least I didn't.
I find most of the stories on this thread, while entertaining reading,.......... a little on the pitiful side. -

Is that the one with Robert DeNiro and Vlade Divac? Never saw it, but have always meant to. I will have to check the TV guide.gut;1303046 wrote:One of my favorites is actually Ronin. LOL....Yeah, the french guy is Jean Reno. I've seen him in a number of movies, and he's typically excellent. Ronin also has arguably the best car chase in movie history.reclegend22;1303063 wrote:Is that the one with Robert DeNiro and Vlade Divac? Never saw it, but have always meant to. In the mid-80's I got in an elevator with Vanna White at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus. Total bitch. I also rode an elevator with Lou Rawls at the San Francisco Hilton. Great guy. Talked with him quite awhile.
I was working a trade show in Anaheim in the early 90's when a gal walked up and starting asking me questions. I stared at her for a second and told her she looked a lot like Lisa Whelchel (played Blair in the TV show The Facts of Life) and she laughed and said, "Well, that's because I am Lisa Whelchel." Super nice lady and a hottie!
That picture is about - 80lbs from what I last saw of her -

I've seen him in several films as well, and I agree that even though I didn't know his name, Reno is a fine actor. He always seems to play a genuinely believable character. I am definitely going to have to watch Ronin now.gut;1303079 wrote:LOL....Yeah, the french guy is Jean Reno. I've seen him in a number of movies, and he's typically excellent. HitsRusI've seen/met a lot of famous people over the years....most just want to go on with their lives unfettered by the attention celebrity gives them. I've never asked anyone for so much as an autograph.
....er...I take that back. In my younger days I was a pretty good bowler and when the pro's came into town for the Firestone Tournament of Champions we practically lived at Riviera Lanes. During a practice round, I was carrying my young son thru some heavy traffic when we came face to face with Mike Aulby, one of the top tour pro's at the time. My son yelled out "Dad! that's Mike Aulby!" Aulby came over and talked with us for a few minutes, and gave me an autographed bowling pin for my son at the Pro-Am the next day.
