Could you.....?(dark question)

  • wes_mantooth
Just got back from watching Sinister and it had me thinking....

Could you live in a house where something terrible happened? A couple of conditions....the price of the house was dirt cheap and there were no remnants of the incidents.

Yes. Unless it affected my day-to-day life (like gawkers coming to see some famous house or something).

A lady died of a drug overdose and sat for almost a week in my old apartment. The kids who lived below her found her when their mom sent them up to see if she needed anything from the store.

It didn't bother me. But I'm not into the whole ghosts and shit stuff.

    I would have a problem with it......suicides, homicides....I'll pass.

This, but I'll take it a step further with no/very little paranormal activity.

The main reason I live where I do now.
Woman has a farmhouse that both of her grandparents died in as well as an uncle. It has a very strange feel to it. I stayed out at the house a few times and felt very uncomfortable. It was like they were murdered but all died of natural causes. Grandpa heart attack in bathroom downstairs, grandma stroke exiting shower, uncle blood clot in living room.

I wouldn't have a problem with it. I've never seen a ghost, but i would love to see something like that.

There was a Guy who hung himself in our basement 5 years before We bought the place

We are looking to sell and buy....one house (that we've liked the best) is a giant house from the 1870's. When I was growing up it was the scariest house in town. A contractor bought it and redid (sp) everything except for the basement which is quite the dungeon. We are going back for a second look next week.

I hope I never have to do it. I don't want to know about it if it did happen.

I'd much rather build than buy.

as long as i didnt know about it

I can't imagine being turned off if I liked the place. I've lived in so many apartments I'm sure there's been something bad happen in at least one of them. Our home in Virginia is 107 years old, I'm guessing there have been some bad events occur there as well.

The original owners of my parents farm is buried in the pasture. A father, wife and baby is buried there.
Grave stones are still in the barn.

Farmers some time ago moved the grave stones.

    Yes.

The auditor's website says the original part of my house was built "Pre-1900." So I'm guessing that someone has died in my house...probably more than a few. It's no big deal. I don't believe in ghosts. I don't believe in spirits. They're gone, I live there now.

    I wouldn't mind at all.

I grew up in a 100+ year old house that was once a funeral home. Nothing creepy ever happened during the 12 years we lived there. Unless you count it burning down. But that was just electrical.

    Wouldn't bother me at all.

Wouldn't bother me. Homicidal "hate the living" ghosts? That would add some fucking excitement to my life. Going into work and showing off my new scars from when the kitchen knives started moving on their own and attacked me....awesomeness!

I dunno, my dad passed away from a heart attack in the house I grew up in. When visiting my mom I still hate going into the bedroom where he died. My mom still doesn't go in the room except to clean and it's been a couple years now.
