Student Loans

Wife and I had about $50,000 total between us (4 diff loans) when we graduated in 2007 and started repaying in 2008.

Down to like $19,000 left on them, we've been hitting them pretty hard for the last 2 years.

So, we will be down from 4 loans to 2 by the end of the year, which saves like $300/mo in payments (we are still paying extra, though).

Hope to have them gone totally within 1-2 years max.

Never had student loan debt. Paid for via academic scholarships, and about 25% from my parents (Thank God). My GF has about $12k remaining.

Put myself through college. 58K was taken out, and no interest paid on it during 4 years. Ive been paying the minimum of 362. I now have a new house paid in cash, so its time for me to hit it hard. Trying to live off one salary while banking the other.

Could you not get a loan for your house (they are brutally tough these days)? Otherwise, you should consider getting a loan for the house and using it to pay off (I assume) more expensive interest rates on your student loans. But you'll have to factor in closing costs, as well.
