Benny The JetI went out bow hunting this weekend, didn't see anything. While I was out though, my buddy called me to come help him with 2 huge does he got within 20 minutes of each other. He was out of tags, and wouldn't you know it, he said a nice shooter buck came strolling through within 50 yards a few minutes later that he had to just let walk.

Benny The JetI don't know why, but I get just as pumped when my friends call and tell me they need help tracking and getting the deer out of the woods as I do when I get one.
-
mcburg93I do too. I just love the hunt no matter sitting there or helping a friend find his. I was so excited when my buddies daughter got that buck this past gun season. It was so great seeing how much excitement she had for shooting her first big buck.

mcburg93I am going to get me a new bow. I dont want to spend more then 400 but if I like it will spend the money on it. What are some bows you all like? Any good suggestions? I am going to be looking at what I like online then going to a place to shoot some and see how I like them.

EnforcerAre You wanting to get the bare bow or the whole package? Its going to be hard to find a good bow package for around 400, The 3 main ones at that price will be Bear, PSE and Diamond which is made by Bowtech
Cabelas has 7 bow packages in Your price range

Are the new bows that much better? I have an old bow as well, and I don't really see any need to upgrade.mcburg93;1366290 wrote:I have had the same bow for twenty years. I didnt realize how much they were now. I guess I will have to up what I am willing to pay now that I started looking at them.
edit - this is probably a question for everyone and not just mcburg. I'm curious what the new bows do the old ones don't. You still release the string and an arrow flys out, right? -
EnforcerDependeds on what kind of bow You have and how old it is, The newer ones are usually, lighter, quieter, faster and for some reason alot of Guys like the color accessories You can get with the newer bows.

The Bow I have now I have had for 20+ years. The owner previously had it 5+ years. It is heavy and not the fastest bow around. I really want to upgrade and give this bow to one of my nephews.FatHobbit;1366506 wrote:Are the new bows that much better? I have an old bow as well, and I don't really see any need to upgrade.

I did this last year with My crossbow, It was one of the first ever Horton Hunters, and it got to the point it was just lobbing the arrow in instead of on a straight line upgraded to a new Horton BoneCollector in August, The Bow is great shoots 320FPS and its VERY light and accuratemcburg93;1366705 wrote:The Bow I have now I have had for 20+ years.
