They had to change it to make more room for hardware changes inside the phone. (ie. bigger battery)
And of course they make it a proprietary adaoptor/port.

Naturally. Can't make it easy to switch from Motorola to Apple. Then, the person might not need to buy the Apple accessories.

LOL Verizon only valued my Thunderbolt at $52 and it is pristine...Looks like I made the right choice(iPhone 5) in phone when it comes to resale value.

Is there any other reason to buy an iPhone?

Who cares if it's slightly lighter and thinner? A sensible person is still going to put the bulky case on it anyways and negate that.

Are cases going to be heavier and thicker for the 5 than for the 4 and 4S?

Jessica and I both have HTC phones and the charging ports are different.

Yeah and actually the htc rezound that I have uses a funky micro usb that won't fit in other electronics

Maybe so...But I'm able to charge my Rezound with my old Droid micro-usb, and even a BB charger. But usually I need the stock HTC cord to connect to my computer (when I do that, I usually do wireless file transfer).

I tried to use my rezound charger on my nexus 7...no go. Not sure why they made it different

True, the Rezound micro-usb is proprietary. However, other micro-USB's work on the Rezound, at least to charge (not sure about data transfer/tethering).

It just helps if you travel to reduce the number of cords you have to take. The actual cable seems to work with other adapters, as well. I think my car charger, for example, is a universal micro-usb and it works on the Rezound.

yeah, I have never used it for video out...but I think that I read somewhere that the rezound cord may support hd video out...not positive though

Took it in to target and went to electronics. Told the guy I wanted to trade in my phone. He needed the model number and it told him a value. He gives the money to you on a gift card for target and then you go to the front and buy the visa gift card at the register with the target gift card
