This plus a zillion. Somehow Seth MacFarlane and Trey and Matt routinely poke fun at Christians and somehow the reaction is not to act like complete subhumans. GoPens reaction is just as scary as these tragic events. There is something really wrong with a lot of people over there. Compromising our fundamental beliefs is just giving in to their extremism. Idiocy.Glory Days;1268575 wrote:this -

Reminds me of this Onion article right after 9/11: http://www.theonion.com/articles/god-angrily-clarifies-dont-kill-rule,222/?ref=auto
Edit: Can't tell if you just made an "Obama is a Muslim" comment, if you did then the idiots include you. -

Who's compromising our beliefs? People have a right to say foul and vile things in this country, but sometimes people get confused and butthurt when there are consequences for the things people say. The no consequences part isn't a right.Manhattan Buckeye;1268631 wrote:This plus a zillion. Amateur anti-Islam film-maker is Egyptian living in California. So mob torches US consulate in Libya. Makes sense... -
Manhattan Buckeye"Who's compromising our beliefs?"
The genius that I mentioned that wants to prosecute the guy. Do you even read posts sometimes IWP. BTW Hillary's speech better be darn good at 10:30 or whenever.
"The no consequences part isn't a right."
And American apologizing for animal behavior may be a right, but it isn't right. I can't believe how far people will go to defend these idiots' behavior. -
Manhattan BuckeyeHillary on now BTW.

Ah shit, I did miss GoPens prosecution comment. That's silly but he's in the minority on that. People shouldn't be prosecuted for saying ridiculous bigoted things unless they act upon them.Manhattan Buckeye;1268651 wrote:"Who's compromising our beliefs?"

Nobody is defending these people murdering folks though. Just because we don't think that Islam is inherently more awful than other religions because of the actions of some uneducated morons doesn't mean we're defending said morons. -
Dr Winston O'BoogieI don't hate Muslims. I hate religious fanatics who kill over things like movies and pictures. Whatever stripe of faith.

Dr Winston O'Boogie
I know the whole story. So what you're saying is the actions of some batshit crazy preacher justifies killing? That is a sad state of affairs that Americans think someone's freedom of speech should be suppressed so as to not offend some murderers half way around the world. Sticks and stones you know.GoPens;1268150 wrote:The reason that they're upset in Egypt is because that **** "preacher" down south who caused problems last year when he burned a Koran is at it again with a movie against Islam. This idiot should be arrested for endangering the lives of Americans overseas.
What was that about "the religion of peace"? If this idiot wouldn't promote his version of a religion of hatred then this **** wouldn't happen. Once again Winston posts something about hating Muslims without knowing the whole story. Typical
Thought it would never happen but I'm with Sleeper on this one. Religion causes far more problems than its worth. -

Because Christians have never murdered in the name of Christianity in world history. Are you one of those Ohio Republican who believe Mitt Romney killed bin laden too?fish82;1268572 wrote:Or, maybe the muslims could dial back the butthurt over every little perceived slight to their religion. -
Dr Winston O'Boogie
Agreed. In this case, these thousands of people seek death in the name of Islam. I would sarcastically criticize any group that did the same whether it be Christian, motorcycle enthusiasts, football fans, etc. Just so happens that its killer Muslims in this case.I Wear Pants;1268672 wrote:I hate religious fanatics who kill over anything. Christians killing in the name of their faith is equally pathetic. Today - in 2012 - it happens to be thousands of Muslims who are doing this. You don't look the other way at murder and mayhem because of history. Every group has been wronged in history and every group has wronged others. So you have to deal with the here and now.Abe Vigoda;1268674 wrote:Because Christians have never murdered in the name of Christianity in world history. Then why do you post about the "religion of peace" whenever some muslim (or Norwegian) crazy does something crazy? Is it not an attempt to paint all muslims as crazy?Dr Winston O'Boogie;1268669 wrote:I don't hate Muslims. I hate religious fanatics who kill over things like movies and pictures. Definitely aren't all crazy, but even for the ones that live over here (who are certainly peaceful) I think it's a bit odd they have such a hang up over dogs. That doesn't make them crazy, but they belong to a religion I can't for the life of me ever seeing taking up. That's why they live in their neighborhoods and the Chinese/Westerners live in our neighborhoods and for the most get along although not quite the same as the Asian-Americans in the U.S. Somehow the Buddhists don't go nuts when my dog wants to be friendly and say hi. If I see a headdress (which is extremely rare in our 'hood) I have to walk the dog in the other direction. It's lame.FatHobbit;1268685 wrote:Then why do you post about the "religion of peace" whenever some muslim (or Norwegian) crazy does something crazy? If citizens of Egypt attack our land (Embassy's are technically our land) why wouldn't we respond by attacking Egypt or at least sanctions against Egypt?FatHobbit;1268615 wrote:Agree. We can not suppress his freedom of speech because of some other whackos.
I agree that extremists do terrible things. But some people would have us attack/hate/blame every muslim for the actions of some of them. That would be no different than the muslim idiots who are killing people because some idiot preacher (who had nothing to do with person they murdered) said something they found insulting.
If their government can't control these types of things then maybe their government needs some retribution? -
Manhattan BuckeyeIMO Hillary speech >>>>>>>>>> Obama speech, granted she was like more close with the ambassador and more aware of the situation. Obama looked shaken. Wonder how things would have turned out if she beat him in '08.

Absolutely we should defend ourselves. But people like the Dr want to make this into every christian against every muslim.jmog;1268703 wrote:If citizens of Egypt attack our land (Embassy's are technically our land) why wouldn't we respond by attacking Egypt or at least sanctions against Egypt?

Libya's Prime Minister Abdurrahim el-Keib apologized "to the American people and the government, and also to the rest of the world" for the "cowardly criminal act."Consulate security staff opened fire after they heard gunfire outside the mission, Al-Sharif said."This led to more anger and this is when the consulate was stormed," he said, suggesting that people loyal to deposed dictator Moammar Gadhafi were aiming to create chaos among the protesters."Criminals managed to get in and they burned and ransacked the consulate," he said.
Libyan Deputy Prime Minister Mustafa Abushagur said Stevens was "a friend of Libya, and we are shocked at the the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi." "I condemn these barbaric acts in the strongest possible terms. This is an attack on America, Libya and free people everywhere," Abushagur said on Twitter.
Libya's governing party condemned the attack as a "criminal and cowardly act" and vowed to "track down the perpetrators and to maintain the country's security and the safety and security of its guests," Libya's official LANA news agency reported.
It does not sound to me like this was a Libyan attack on the US. -

I think many of us are simply waiting for fellow muslims to deliver the necessary justice to their fellow Islamic terrorists. Perhaps that would give credibility to the argument that it is not all muslims who are anti-Christian etc....

Obama and Clinton offered new details Wednesday about the chaotic aftermath. They said some Libyans tried to fight to defend the U.S. post while it was under attack, even carrying Stevens' body to a hospital. The Libyan doctor who treated Stevens also told The Associated Press that he died of severe asphyxiation, apparently from smoke inhalation, and that he tried for 90 minutes to revive him. -
QuakerOatsThanks; that's nice.
Now let's watch and see which muslims, if any, deliver the necessary justice to the Islamic terrorists there, and around the world, who on a daily basis are committing acts of terrorism.
