Worst speeding ticket you've ever gotten?

Yeah, forgot to mention I was nailed by a damn air patrol as well. There was a long line of troopers sitting along 70 West waiting to pull people over.said_aouita;1243173 wrote:Cop must of been a prick not to drop it below 20 over.
Almost got 89 in a 65 - caught by a damn airplane when in college but it was dropped to 19 over by a nice hwy patrolman. -
hoops2376 in a 60 in Rocky River on my way to Cleveland...
Cop knocked it down to 75 to shave the extra point or whatever I would have received..
I've been pulled over a plethora of times, but I always receive warnings.. In fact, a cop pulled me over the other day while trailing me and said he was pacing me at 65 in a 55... I was really going 75ish. -

An old note to self I learned from the airplane ticket- they had random white lines across the road and would do a "timed mile" to get ya.justincredible;1243210 wrote:Yeah, forgot to mention I was nailed by a damn air patrol as well. Not sure with today's gps technology if they still do that anymore. Usually whenever on the hwy and I pass over a random thick painted white line, I'd slow down for a mile or so. -
Glory DaysOnly 1 ticket. I was driving 75mph in a 75mph zone on I-80 in Iowa at 4am when it turned into a construction zone. IA trooper knocked it down to a 65mph in a 55mph since it wasnt an active construction zone and there was no other traffic. fine was around $100.

O-TrapDoes that fine amount seem unusually high to you? $434?
I did look it up, and the violation was still a two-point violation since it was less than 30 MPH above a speed limit that was over 55 MPH, but I don't know if that even correlates to the fine amount.
I've had 3 tickets in 12 years, and one was sliding into a ditch in a snowstorm, while the other was for less than 5 MPH over in a school zone (I had come out of the school, so I hadn't seen the flashing lights). As such, I'm not exactly familiar with what is normal for a ticket. -

Seems a little high to me. Ive been pulled over for three speeding tickets. 65 in a 55, 55 in a 45, and 82 in a 55. None of the tickets were more then 150 dollars. I got all of these withing a five year period too. My insurance sucked for a few years I was only 21 when i got the first one.O-Trap;1243234 wrote:Does that fine amount seem unusually high to you? $434?

how did you find out the cost? was there a number on the back of the ticket to call?O-Trap;1243234 wrote:Does that fine amount seem unusually high to you? $434?

I Wear PantsI've never gotten a speeding ticket. Only got pulled over once for speeding and it was for 50 in a 45 and was on the day before Thanksgiving so was an excuse to check if I was drunk. Which I wasn't since I hadn't had any alcohol at all and the guy didn't give me a ticket. I always assumed it was because I was the DD.

Cost is right on the ticket. There is indeed a number on the back to call.Glory Days;1243249 wrote:how did you find out the cost? was there a number on the back of the ticket to call? -
THE4RINGZI only have recieved one speeding ticket in my life. In Smithville, no less. Thanks O-Trap.

Raw Dawgin' itContest all tickets - always the chance the cop doesn't show up and a lot of the times if you have a clean driving record (3yrs or more w/o a ticket) they'll drop it.
I was doing 100mph in a 35 and i didn't lose my license. Hell, the only money i paid was for court fees, towing, and probation. They dropped all the speeding charges. -

More than likely, because the normal rule of thumb is 10mph over the posted speed limit. This isn't set in stone, but has been confirmed by both a TPD sergeant and OHP trooper.I Wear Pants;1243253 wrote: Only got pulled over once for speeding and it was for 50 in a 45 and was on the day before Thanksgiving so was an excuse to check if I was drunk.. -

Hey, it's where I got BOTH of my prior ones. The one was for 3 over in a school zone ... when I had come out of the school. It was about time for the school zone to be over anyway, but even still, 3 over is absurd, even in a school zone.
But that's the SPD for you. -
BORIStheCrusherJust got my first one two weeks ago; been let go a few times. Was going 73 in a 55, cost $125.

Cat Food Flambe'Not mine, but..
Son of Cat Food got a ticket for failure to maintain assured clearance when he was sixteen, and I had to go with to a couple of safety classes. One of the girls there had been ticketed for doing 80 mph - in a 20mph school zone. Wonder what that would have cost an adult? -
Ironman9237 in a 25
70 in a 55 (airplane!!!)
Several "oh shit" occurrences flying 80+ in a 55-65 and just hauled ass even faster once the patrol passed and found the nearest turnoff. -

I have written tickets for 2 cities, never wrote the cost on the ticket since it is set by the courts. even double checking my cleveland tickets, i dont even see a spot on there to write it. and not sure which department wrote the ticket, but the code for speeding in cleveland is 433.03, you arent confusing the 434 on your ticket for the ordinance number are you?O-Trap;1243259 wrote:Cost is right on the ticket. Dear lord, I hope I am. I would have double-checked by now, but my ticket is in my car, and I've been at work all day.Glory Days;1243491 wrote:I have written tickets for 2 cities, never wrote the cost on the ticket since it is set by the courts. even double checking my cleveland tickets, i dont even see a spot on there to write it. and not sure which department wrote the ticket, but the code for speeding in cleveland is 433.03, you arent confusing the 434 on your ticket for the ordinance number are you? -
tk421Never been pulled over. I'm not a speed junky, if I'm going over the limit it's no more than 5MPH.

Midstate0141 in a 35, twice!!!
Also been pulled over on base going 28 in a 25. No ticket though. -

5 tickets in my life, 3 warnings. Worst was 78 in a 55, about $130 if I remember correctly. Got let off of a 58 in a 25 when the cop had to respond to a domestic violence dispute at the trailer park in my hometown. God works in mysterious ways! -
Pick6My only speeding ticket is $100 going 31 in a 20 (school zone apparently). I didn't know though. The thing is, I wasnt even pulled over, a fucking camera got me. On exchange st in Akron. I did actually get pulled over for going 79 in a 65 in new philadelphia, but for some reason the officer only gave me a seatbelt ticket

ManO'WarThe worst one I have ever gotten was a few years back...on my way from Steubenville to Pittsburgh in the morning for work on 22 East.
I had my cruise set for 55. There was a cop ahead so everyone slowed down and got behind him. I was in the left lane and kept gradually gaining on him, as he was in the right lane. After like 10 minutes I finally pulled even with him, then inched past him. He pulled right behind me and pulled me over. Said I was going 56 in a 55, since his speedometer was "official". I said to him "are you f'n kidding me??" I got a ticket. That was by the Baden PD...so if you're ever on 22 look out around the Burgettstown area. -
Pick6^^ my friend got a $160 ticket for going 63 in a 50(speed trap apparently) in Stratton last weekend
-
ManO'WarRoute 7 in Stratton is a notorious speed trap.
