Circular logic is another flaw of religious belief.

Matthew 9:4 Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, "Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?

2 Kings 19:27 "'But I know where you stay and when you come and go and how you rage against me.

Psalm 44:21 would not God have discovered it, since he knows the secrets of the heart?

Psalm 94:11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man; he knows that they are futile.

Isaiah 66:18 "And I, because of their actions and their imaginations, am about to come and gather all nations and tongues, and they will come and see my glory.

You can use your free will to choose to follow Jesus or you can make your own decisions.

Jesus changed all that by his sacrifice. You should have followed your own advice and read forward from Exodus.

There is a plan/consequence for both scenarios.

That makes zero sense. Let me ask you this one, can God create a rock that he himself cannot lift?

This is how you rape a god btw.

So at one point, God WAS a vindictive bastard, but he really lightened up on that shit when he decided he'd just have his own son take one for the team?

Which again doesn't make sense. God created the world and everything. Then he made Adam and Eve, at some point he also made a devious talking snake. This talking snake talked Adam and Eve into eating an apple that apparently had knowledge because god doesn't like it when people are intellectually curious. So because of this dastardly act god casts them out of Eden into the brutal world.

Later the world has come to shit and dead people's souls (which god also would have created and set up the system for) can't get to heaven and we're all born with sin. So god impregnates a woman and she has a son. Who is also god. Son god's son, who is also god, jesus is here to save us from our sins. By dying. God is saving us from the sins/system he created by killing his son who is also himself. But then he resurrects his son/self 3 days later. So now some people can get into heaven. Though probably not most if you go by the Bible so those people get to be tortured for all eternity.

There's really only two conclusions one can logically make after reading the Bible. The Christian god is not real or the Christian god is the biggest asshole of all time.

    IWP:

It would help if you actually read the Bible instead of googling "funny" pics or memes. I don't care if you do that googling...just make sure you get the chance to read the verse OR just look like sleeper...

    Here's the [NASB] 2 Kings 2:23-24 passage:
Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!” When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the LORD. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number.
It hardly says that "God sent bears." You have complained about Christians picking and choosing Bible verses to fit whatever they want...that's exactly what you did -- and did it terribly. At least when Christians do it they get the verse right, there's SOME applicable material with it.

Vindictive? Would you sacrifice your own son for other people who hate you? I think you are struggling with the difference between true justice (God's) and your (man's) view of justice, when you read some books in the Old Testament.

Why sacrifice anyone? Why not just say, "oh, you guys aren't as smart as I thought you'd be when I created you"? Why not love your creation unconditionally? If you are superior, why keep trying to prove yourself?

He does. Do you love him unconditionally?

Ok I'm gonna go ahead and say it. Quoting the Bible does nothing for me. The book is thousands of years old and while it provides certain lessons that are good for living a moral life, it is seen to much as a historical document. It's a book of philosophy IMO.

When you're trying to convince nonbelievers, quoting a thousands of years old book filled with stories isn't going to do it. Especially given that there are so many other books/gospels that some council years ago decided weren't "worthy" years ago. The Bible claims that it is the word of God, but every line was written by Man so it's hard to know for sure.

Interesting because many of the "stories"/ "lessons" in the Bible about human behavior told thousands of years ago are relevant still today.

So if you believe in God you can't make your own decisions? I will never understand 'God's Plan' vs. Free Will, they completely contradict one another. If I get hit by a bus tomorrow I was just following Jesus and that was God's plan for me?

Did you look both ways before you crossed? were you texting? Checking out a good looking girl? Everyone is going to die eventually and sometimes it's caused by decisions of others or just happens, we are not promised tomorrow. Too many times we look at life on earth as the end all. If you believe in Jesus death is the beginning of true life.

That whole hell thing is kind of contrary to unconditional love. I understand that you can punish someone and still love them. But eternity is a pretty serious matter, right? I mean, we're made to be logical creatures but if we follow logic we aren't likely to do the one thing that god insists we do in order to avoid being tortured for eternity? That sounds more like a game than unconditional love.

So does god have a "plan" or does he just know what is going to happen? If he actually has a plan, does he make sure we make the decisions to follow it? So like, if you are about to get hit by that bus, will he save you so you can sustain his plan? If he doesn't have a plan, prayer is worthless because he is going to let you make your own decisions and he isn't going to control anyone else's actions, right?

Why do believers get so sad when someone dies? If the ultimate goal is to get to "true life", death should be a glorious event, right?
