I concur. I am thinking about going to check out Ides of March.Laley23;928930 wrote:WHAT! Granted he has done some fluff roles, because he needs work (especially early on). But the guy is probably in the top 10 in acting ability. He is amazingly awesome, and very versatile. -
wes_mantoothIdes of March was pretty damn interesting.

PSH is a great actor. Loved him in Charlie Wilson's War, one of my favorite characters in any movie.bigdaddy2003;928703 wrote:Seymour Hoffman being a good actor came as quite a surprise to me. It just doesn't seem like he is the same guy who was in Twister. Haha
Also good in Doubt, Big Lebowski, and Moneyball. -
SportsAndLadyI think I'm gonna check out Ides of March tomorrow after I work, I've been wanting to see it for a while; completely forgot it came out.

bigdaddy2003Finally saw a preview for J Edgar. Wow I'm pretty pumped for it. I see they moved it up from December to November. It comes out the same day as Immortals now. I may have to check out both in the same day.

I caught like 15 seconds of the preview on Sunday, and it looked pretty awesome. Anything Leonardo DiCaprio does lately is gold. The guy is on fire.bigdaddy2003;936418 wrote:Finally saw a preview for J Edgar. Wow I'm pretty pumped for it. I see they moved it up from December to November. Just saw it on Saturday. Thought it was pretty good. Acting was top notch with an amazing cast, the story however developed too quickly at the end seemed a bit rushed for my taste. Could have been an Oscar contender but unraveled a bit in the end keeping it from being a a best picture candidate IMO.SportsAndLady;929238 wrote:I think I'm gonna check out Ides of March tomorrow after I work, I've been wanting to see it for a while; completely forgot it came out. -

Agree a lot with this. I thought the acting was phenomenal... but there was just something keeping it from being "best picture" quality.Commander of Awesome;936576 wrote:Just saw it on Saturday. wes_mantoothPumped for J Edgar...releases next week. Leo has been on a role for several years now and with Dirty Harry directing, I think this one will be damn good.

I am too. I doubted Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino because I heard it was about an old racist. I had no interest in watching that. I know plenty of old racists and they aren't very entertaining. When I finally did get around to it I thought it was a great movie. Add Leo in there and I think this will be great too.wes_mantooth;955936 wrote:Pumped for J Edgar...releases next week. bigdaddy2003I too am pumped for J Edgar. I'm a big Leo guy.

Laley23Eastwood hasnt missed on many of his director gigs. Leo hasnt missed for years on any role. This has the chance to be fantastic.
-
Laley23Also, anyone see that Matt Damon wants to star in a movie about Whitey Bulger? He wants to play Whitey and I guess Ben Affleck wants to co-star. That would be a fantastic movie as well if they fill in the rest of the parts with great minds/talent. I wish Affleck would stick to writing scripts, cause he is money with that and not acting. But he didnt ruin his own script The Town so I give him a pass till his next gig.

Scarlet_BuckeyePlease... PLEASE do yourselves a favor and DO NOT see 'A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas.' I had free (thank God) movie passes to this this flick and it was AWFUL. Easily one of the worst, if not THE worst, movies I have ever seen. It was so bad that I almost got up and left; I would have, but I was there with my friends and I didn't want to leave them / talk in the movie.
The sad part about it is, I actually like John Cho a lot. I think he is a good looking guy and a pretty darn good actor. Loved him in FlashForward.
God was this movie awful. -
Commander of AwesomeYeah thanks I already knew that from the first film and then the trailer for this pile.
-
wes_mantoothSurprisingly....early on, the reviews are good.
-
bigdaddy2003I'm sure it will be good for a few laughs but nothing special.

bigdaddy2003J. Edgar only made 11.5 mil this weekend. I must say I am pretty shocked.
-
gport_tennisThey picked a bad time to release it. They should have waited another three weeks, until after all this twilight hoopla passed
-
imex99Anyone see j Edgar?

bigdaddy2003I plan on seeing it this week. I'm going to see Immortals tomorrow.

Laley23Going to see J. Edgar at 3 today. Ill give my review when I return.
I also think its a horrible release date. I figured Clint and Leo combo would at least pull in a bit more. The previews made it look really good to guys as it kind of left it up in the air a bit, but you knew it was going to intrigue you. But its a tough sell to get women to this type of movie, or the casual viewer this time of year with holiday spending around the corner.
