Anchorman and Step Brothers are easily at the top for me. I've never watched Elf in it's entirety so I can't really comment on it. I thought Old School had it's moments but I'm not as big on it as some seem to be, I don't really care for Night at the Roxbury, Talladega Nights and Semi Pro (very few) both had their moments. I enjoyed his 5 or 6 minutes in Wedding Crashers. I thought Campaign was alright. I don't remember Galifanakis saying more than 2 funny lines and that was disappointing.

Galifanakis' act is already getting old as well. At least in comedies. I think in certain non comedic roles, he could actually be solid.
  • OSH
I am NOT a fan of Ferrell at all. I do enjoy Kicking and Screaming though. That was about it.

I haven't seen The Campaign yet, but as I mentioned earlier, I'd like to. I enjoyed Galifianakis in Due Date...it seems that he has a similar role, which I don't mind.

Really? I thought hit and run was going to be good.

Will Ferrell is like Jim Carrey, only not as good. And JC can actually act a little bit.

Hit and run gave total recall a run for its money for worst movie of the summer.

Dax Shepard is terrible....I don't know how he keeps getting work

Yeah I didnt think it was great either. Knew it had poor reviews but some reviewers on rotten tomatoes thought there were funny parts, but I didn't think so.

There were maybe 2-3 times where I chuckled

Only times I laughed were when tom Arnold was involved

Is there a reason for Bradley Cooper having his hair like that?

No...not really. Also, he isn't even in the first half of the movie....I don't think

Premium Rush made like 6 million this weekend and Hit and Run has made like 5.8 since Wednesday.

I just watched The Apparition. I didn't expect much but it wasn't very good at all. To all my fellow chatters who go to the movies to be entertained I advise you to skip this one.

When the funniest parts of a movie are the ones with Tom Arnold...something went horribly wrong...

    This.

For some reason I thought he was dead.

Well now I see why Hit and Run has only made like 6 millions bones. I just thought it was overall lame. I don't understand how it has a 45 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. They tried to make Bradley Cooper a bad ass but failed in my opinion. I'm not sure if it was his hair or what but I couldn't take him seriously. I agree that Tom Arnold was the funniest part of the movie. I think I laughed once or twice outside of his parts. Plus I feel like they went out of their way to be politically correct and those scenes just fail in a movie that is supposed to be a comedy. Bell's character had a doctorate in non violent conflict resolution. A guy below me laughed because he thought it was a joke and when he found out it wasn't he looked around and said "what the fuck."

Went and watched Lawless last night. Really liked it, but it could have been just me since I really like movies about that time period and mobsters/good ol boy movies. Shia Labeouf did a pretty good job, Tom Hardy was solid.
  • bigdaddy2003
I'm going to go check out Lawless tomorrow. I've wanted to see it for a few months.
  • bigdaddy2003
I too thought Lawless was pretty good. Shia LeBeouf just may become a better actor than I would ever imagine. Tom Hardy was solid also. I'm starting to like him in everything he's in. You also get to see a pretty decent rack.

Tom Hardy is a helluva actor.

Finally saw Batman. Solid and enjoyed it, but would put it as 3rd in the bale tril. Action was good, and if you dissect the story, the movie sort of falls apart. Thus I tried not to think about the plot holes and poor catwoman acting towards the end of the film. Absolutly hated what they did with Bain. Went from a mad genius psychopath to a pussy whipped little bitch puppet. Pathetic. I just shook my head at the "twist" that everyone could see coming a mile away. Twist had no reason to be there.

I watched it again a few nights ago, the film itself is beautifully filmed (Chris Nolan is a genius IMO as a director), the plot the second time around made even less sense. Granted, trying to upstage "The Dark Knight" (which IMO was a fantastic film) wasn't easy, and perhaps the bar was set too high, but a better script was much needed. It tried to be too much, much bigger and more impressive than The Dark Knight and collapsed under its own (proverbial) weight.

People can talk about plotholes, IMO the entire film is a plothole. I'm not sure if trying to get a PG-13 rating was part of the issue, but the action seemed neutered.
  • Commander of Awesome
I agree on the plot not making sense. IMO batman was one of the most boring characters in the film. One thing besides hime escaping prison (ridiculous) was the leg brace thing. He has this mechanical brace that enable him to kick through concrete (LOL). Yet is never mentioned in the film again, not even in the fight with bain. So why in the hell show it in the first place? It served no purpose.
  • bigdaddy2003
I too hated what they did with Bane at the end.
  • wes_mantooth
I thought the second fight with Bain was a direct rip off of Rocky 4...lol.

Also, I still liked this movie better than the Dark Knight...even though it had corny moments and it had my one pet peeve.....the dreaded make out session while time is ticking away.
