Watched The Campaign yesterday, that one will be on Netflix one day.

I doubt I ever go see another Will Ferrell movie.

Has anyone went to see Expendables 2?

Going to see Bourne tonight. Pretty excited after the reviews and word of mouth that it is really good. I was skeptical at first, but now I am hoping not to be disappointed.

I would think low expectations would help you out a lot here.

Not expecting it to be close to what the first 3 were. Those were awesome and some of my favorite action movies ever. Jason Bourne is probably a top 3 action character for me.

I had NO expectations and was actually they were pissed going forward with a new lead and new director. But the reviews have been more positive than negative, and my friends who typically have a taste in movies similar to mine liked it more than they thought they were.

So while I dont expect it to be on the same level as 1-3. I now expect it to be good and entertain me. I dont expect to be angered that I went to the theaters to see it.

    Expendables was AWESOME

    haha

    In the worst ways

Ha I'm going to see Expendables on Friday. I won't go in expecting a masterpiece so I'll be ok. I watched a preview for one of Stallone's next movies and at one point in the preview he looks like he's 35. He's always been in pretty good shape but for a 66 year old man he looked ridiculous in this preview.

Bourne was decent. Worth the 5$ price on Tuesdays (In Toledo).

Exactly what I expected. With the writer of the first 3 (name escapes me) moving to director, I knew it wouldnt be as smooth. Really liked the plot idea to continue the series, but it was executed pretty poorly. Timeline overlapping from this and the 3rd got to be a bit much and was kind of confusing at times. I understood it, but Ive also seen the 3rd one upwards of 10 times. The movie itself didnt have near the action of the others (even the 1st which was more building). But it was still entertaining.

Renner just isnt Matt Damon, at least in terms of this role, which really hurt.

    Most overrated actor, maybe ever.

I don't think many people think he is some great actor. Most movies he's in are hilarious though.

I don't know about ever, but he is def up there. His act got old pretty quickly.

I would say Ashton Kutcher has to be on the top of the list for most overrated actors.

Talladega Nights had to be top 5 in most disappointing movies ever for me. He laid a huge egg there.</SPAN>

Disagree, it wasn't the best in the world but it was worth it just for the lunch prayer scene.

Semi-Pro on the other hand, yech. I can't think of one positive for the entire film.
  • bigdaddy2003
I thought Talladega Nights had some funny parts. I can only think of one or two funny lines from Semi Pro.

I can't stand Will Ferrell, but I have to admit the preview of him running around the track on fire yelling "Help me Tom Cruise! Tom Cruise, use your witchcraft on me to get the fire off me!" made me chuckle.

I think that's the thing with Ferrell...he's good for sporadic moments where he says/does something hysterically funny. And so...he gets to be a main star in a bunch of 90 minute movies where he (hopefully) has a few of those moments, but the rest is lacking.

He's good in movie when he's not a main actor. Like wedding crashers. Although step brothers was great

I have to give him credit for Elf. My daughter made me watch it and I had no interest, but it was actually pretty cute.

Will Ferrell has had a few awesome movies.

    Step Brothers
    Anchorman
    Elf
Old School (not main actor, but more than a small role)
A Night at the Roxbury (wasnt horrible)

The rest, I hated. But his small roles are all pretty awesome.
