Damn. Did you see my post asking you what in the hell was up with Tree of Life?

No I missed that one. Not a huge fan of that movie. Weird seeing Pitt in that role and the movie was just flat out boring in parts IMO. I know what the director was going for, but just missed his mark I thought.

Lol did you expect a masterpiece? I didn't expect much so I enjoyed it for what it was. Abe Lincoln killing some asshole vampires.

I agree. Dont get me wrong I thought the pictures were cool throughout the movie but over all it just wasnt interesting and that blows because I generally like Pitt and Penn.

I have to go with this but by now people should know I go to be entertained not to expect masterpieces.

I'm fairly new to following this thread so I apologize if it's been posted. Someone e-mailed this trailer for Looper. Looks like a pretty good action flick.

Just caught Ted. I thought it was pretty funny.

Spider-Man was pretty packed I guess. The parking lot was pretty crowded for the first showing and the lobby was full when I left.

I'm checking out Spider-Man tonight. Hope it's as good as I've heard.

No interest in Spiderman, but the reviews are good.

    I am waiting on savages
  • bigdaddy2003
I'm only partially interested in Spider-Man. Im much more excited for Dark Knight Rises. Savages looks alright. The preview I saw today made it more intriguing.

I always like the Cartel movies and with Oliver Stone directing...it should be entertaining

Yeah, and for me it helps that Selma Hayek is in it.

Meh, I've always been a Spider-Man fan so I'm interested by default... I love the direction they went with this though because it's more truer to the Spider-Man universe than the Sam Raimi versions.

And I'll agree about Savages. I think it looks pretty good.

I'm catch The Amazing Spider-Man here in less than an hour.

Count me in too with those excited for Savages and The Dark Knight: Rising (although, I can easily see Savages not being that good).

Also... as a bonus... I watch The Mechanic last night with Statham. What a badass flick that was! Loved the ending (except for [SP]Statham escaping[/SP])

Im going to give Spider-Man a couple days to cool off before I go see it. It has a 72 on Rotten Tomatoes right now. The cat who plays Peter Parker is 28? He looks like he is 20.

IMO, best Spider-Man movie made. I could see Tobey's SM2 rivaling it, but this one was true to the comic/cartoon.

It had a couple of unneeded/cheesy scenes with Peter, but outside of that terrific. I thought the CGI was much better than anything in the Tobey Spider-Man flicks as well, especially after watching the first one the other day.

I liked the chemistry between Garfield and Stone as well. The first half of the movie was slow, developing the story and characters, but it definitely picked up and the action was great.

I'd give it a B+ as of now. I may go see it again.

Did both of you see it in 3D? I may choose 2D unless you guys say it was worth it for 3D.

3D is never worth it. Hope this helps BD.

I saw it in Real3D or whatever it's called... I thought there were some pretty good 3D shots though. If you don't care much about 3D, just watch it in 2D... I thought the best 3D shot came at the very end as he's swinging around and it slows down a bit...

My theater is a new stadium seating Cinemark theater and ticket prices are pretty cheap, especially through the week... I can get a 3D ticket under $10. I think regular tix are around 6.50...

Also, there is a small scene at the end of the first set of credits... Doesn't really reveal much, but it may give a hint at who the next villain is...

Ha you are right. On a different note I was finally able to catch Moonrise Kingdom.

Sandusky? I'll prob just catch it in 2D. Thanks for alerting me to stay during the credits.

I was pretty disappointed with The Amazing Spider-Man. The film just had a whole bunch of pieces that didn't really fit. It was definitely a letdown and I'll say the 3rd best in the Spider-Man series.

Also, there was no reason whatsoever to see this film in 3D. I wish I could recoup the $4 I wasted for catching it in 3D.

Maybe I need to watch it again. I usually enjoy Norton and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
