The Player and Get Shorty were hits? And I never said The Artist wasn't a good movie, I just said Hugo was better. I think a lot of people would put up The Artist with SIL, English Patient and Hurt Locker of forgettable Oscar winners - doesn't mean they weren't good.

The Artist has a 98% on RT, while English Patient has an 83%. Wouldn't put them in the same category.

Top Gun 49% (lol, I'm actually surprised by this score. Turns out thinking its a shitty movie isn't as uncommon as I thought)

Wrong again, there are plenty of films that got poor reviews that are awesome. See Roger Ebert's initial review of The Usual Suspects.

Some films that had poor ratings (The Usual Suspects) are very good.

That is a correct CURRENT review - the initial reviews were poor. I know because I was an adult back in the mid-90's. It is similar to how many industry insiders believed that a certain film in 1977 would be the biggest bomb ever - called STAR WARS.

It took until 1999 until The Phantom Menace proved it to be a bomb.

Phantom Menace made over $400 million in the first week, Hardly a bomb. Is it a good movie? Hell no, but not a box office bomb.

Also Rotten tomatoes/metacritic dont go back and re-review films. They use the sources when the movie was released. It's not even worth debating with you anymore, you've been proven incorrect in your assessment, but continue despite this.

Artist is a good film BD, if you go see it, you wont be disappointed you did.
