He was horrible. I find him to be about as funny as an abandoned chalkboard.

Saw Gravity yesterday in 2D and thought it was just OK, probably would have loved it in 3D. Saw Rush today and thought it was awesome. Movie of the year so far for me.

Gravity in 3d was pretty fucking awesome saw it last night. Going to see Captain Phillips Tonight.

This is actually a pretty apt description for The World's End (the Shawn of the Dead reprisal). It had maybe two or three jokes, yet was marketed as a comedy. Why the director envisioned a movie lasting as long as Dances With Wolves is beyond me. There was one really funny part that I can remember, near the end, inside of the cave thing under the bar.

This is the End was funny in spots, awkward in most of it, and just did not hit well. Some scenes were funny, most were not.

Yeah, agree. I liked it in 2D more than OK, but I think in IMAX especially it'd be great.

    Captain Phillips was entertaining.

Controversy from his crew recently on what really happened, but the jist of it was there and good.

Next movie up..Lone Survivor in Dec/Jan.

Hated that movie. Concept is cool, but there are only so many times I can see Vince Vaughn wink before I want to murder people.

Escape Plan. I thought this movie was worth the price of admission. Any time you get Stallone and Schwarzenegger, it's gotta be worth checking out... right? The movie was pretty cool in that it had two big name actors, had an original idea (yeah there's been "breaking out of prison" ideas before, but never "breaking out of futuristic/high-tech prisons" like this one), and even had a couple "twists" in the movie as well. It was definitely a guys movie, but I don't think there was a lot of "shootem-up, bangem-up." The end happened a little fast... and with two guys that already speak "broken English", it was a little hard picking up / understanding exactly what was happening. I'd recommend checking it out... at the very least catching it on Netflix.

Gravity 3D. I did not care for this movie. Yeah it had some great cinematography (if you do go see this movie, you must see it in 3D - there were A LOT of things flying off the screen, etc). My fear was, "there's not a lot of plot development you can do about a movie set in outer-space," and I was essentially proven right. The dialogue between Sandra Bullock and George Clooney was very weak. They, along with one other guy who was killed off in the first 10 minutes of the movie, were the only ON SCREEN PEOPLE shown in the ENTIRE MOVIE. So... it was very vanilla in terms of characters & acting. I found myself questioning multiple times "Is this thing over yet?" throughout the movie. I even thought about getting up and leaving a couple times to see if I could catch something else. In the end, I'm glad I saw it so I can say "I saw it," but it really was a waste of time. Thankfully I didn't drop any money on it as I "hopped" into it. It did have some cool visual effects tho. Probably the 2nd best "3D" movie I've seen (behind Avatar - which was vastly superior). It just wasn't a very stimulating moving, in terms of overall appease.

I plan on catching Captain Phillips, and hopefully something else, next Tuesday.

I'm just pumped for Wolf of Wallstreet... When's that @#$#er going to finally come out?

Not sure, but never a good sign when a movie gets pushed back. Leo's been making duds lately so I'm not that excited for this one.

12 yrs a slave looks awesome. Hoping to see that soon.

I know we've been thru this once [maybe even twice] on here already... but

The Great Gatsby - not good
    Django Unchained - phenomenal
    J. Edgar - not good
    Inception - glorious
Shutter Island - eh... ok. Not great; not bad.

    Revolutionary Road - haven't seen.
Body of Lies - haven't seen

    Blood Diamond - phenomenal
The Departed - one of the most overrated movies (IMO), but still very good

    The Aviator - haven't seen
Catch Me If You Can - haven't seen

Gangs of New York - awesome

Idk man... that's a pretty good list.
  • Manhattan Buckeye
Most of that was Scorsese to be fair. Gangs of New York was one of his worst acting jobs IMO - his accent changed from one scene to the next. In one scene he spoke with an Irish accent, in the next he talked like he was from California.

Catch me if you can is great.

I can't wait I see Bad Grandpa looks like it will be a great comedy.

I've read reviews on Bad Grandpa, all said it was hilarious. Going tonight at 7pm
