I hate to admit it, but I actually enjoyed "stuck on you"....which i think is theirs as wellManhattan Buckeye;1462774 wrote:^^^
Agreed, and I wasn't the biggest fan of Me Myself and Irene. It was a one joke comedy spread out over 90 minutes, and Zellwegger's character was so underwritten my guess is that few people remember who played the female lead. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't very good. The Farrelly Bros had a great trinity (Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin and There's Something About Mary) and never made it back to that level. -
Manhattan Buckeye^^^
Yeah, but I haven't seen that one, just a few minutes or so on cable. I didn't mind Shallow Hal which I did watch, I'd put it on the same level as Me Myself and Irene. Ok but not something I'd want to watch again, and certainly not memorable. Compare those films to Dumb and Dumber...which to its goal is a stupid movie..with quotes.
I could quote almost the entire Dumb and Dumber film (Big Gulps, well, see ya!) but can't even think of a single line in the post There's Something About Mary films. -

Manhattan BuckeyeBut you knew what I was talking about and the scene - I'm not taking the time to go to imdb.com to get the exact quote.
Whatever bug is up your ass, get rid of it. -
Manhattan BuckeyeFrom Dumb and Dumber (to my memory):
Uhh, Flo, what's the Soup du jour?
[waitress irritated] It's the soup of the day.
MMM, that sounds good, I'll have that.
That might not be completely correct, but it is memorable. -

I don't need to look up imdb to get the exact quote lol "Big gulps, huh? ......Welp, See ya later!"Manhattan Buckeye;1462861 wrote:But you knew what I was talking about and the scene - I'm not taking the time to go to imdb.com to get the exact quote.

You can't say you can quote any part of that movie, choose one quote, and get that incorrect lol -
Manhattan BuckeyeI'm not God, or Tom Cruise and have all-knowing scripts of films. If you understood what I was talking about my point was proven.
Another one of my favorites: "Hey, I suppose they are right...senior citizens while slow and dangerous behind the wheel still serve a purpose. Now don't go dying on me!"
My guess is that isn't 100% accurate, but you remember the scene. -
gport_tennis"So you're saying theres a chance" that you might mess up a quote?
-
Manhattan BuckeyeYesss......I get ya
I know that most critics hate Dumb and Dumber, but I think it is brilliant -

Trueblue23Kingpin was awesome.

se-alumI know I'm in the vast minority, but I can't stand the Ace Ventura movies, and I'm not a fan of Dumb or Dumber. The Mask was a terrible movie. I did like Bruce Almighty though.
-
Trueblue23"I Love You Phillip Morris" was very good too.
-
Laley23For the record, I wasnt implying that everyone loves those movies or they are academy award winners.
But regardless of what you think of those movies, its undeniable that it is a pretty good list for a comedian to have. They are successes and the majority of people consider them to be good films (Batman Forever was terrible, I listed it cause it was such a blockbuster). -
justincredible
I loved the first one but I am almost certain Jim Carrey will ruin the sequel for me. I love a lot of his older movies, but fuck that guy these days.Manhattan Buckeye;1462580 wrote:"I can't say I'm "waiting" for it, but Kick Ass was a pretty awesome movie and MUCH better than I anticipated."
Agreed, wasn't expecting much but it was far better than even the critics reviews. Not sure I'm expecting as much for the sequel - it lost Matthew Vaughn and has a new screenwriter/director. Plus in Cage's place they put in Jim Carrey who instead of being funny weird like Cage, is reverting to his douchebag self. -
Scarlet_BuckeyeSaw This Is The End and World War Z last night.
This Is The End had some good laughs. No doubt about it, Danny McBride stole the show; he was definitely the funniest. I feel bad saying it, but Craig Robinson was probably the least funniest (of the main actors). There were some extreme highs (like the jizzing convo between James Franco and Danny McBride -- "I'll jizz wherever I want") and there were some extreme lows (like the end of the movie -- WTF?! was that?!). Also... did anyone else think Jonah Hill ate the Jonah Hill that played in Moneyball before the filming of This Is The End? Hill looked terribly heavier than ever before (I know... he's always been overweight); but Hill looked fairly slimmed down in Moneyball and looked like a stuffed pork in This Is The End. Also, why was that dumb b**** Rihanna in this film? Will she ever go away?!
World War Z... WOW... what a film. By far the best movie I've seen at the theaters in the past 7 films (i.e., it was better than This Is The End, The Hangover 3, Man of Steel, The Internship, Iron Man 3, Oblivion, The Great Gatsby). Best zombie movie I've seen. I was thoroughly entertained the entire movie. Brad Pitt provided another solid acting performance. The zombie makeup was outstanding. Normally I hate the whole "zombie theme" b.s., but this one was done VERY well.
This Is The End = 6 out of 10
World War Z = 8.5 out of 10 -
Manhattan BuckeyeBumping this up.
Was The Lone Ranger that bad? Anyone watch it? -
SportsAndLadyThat movie looks horrible.
-
wes_mantoothThe reviews are brutal... No desire to see it. I am not big on Johnny depp.... I didn't even like pirates
-
GoPensI like Depp so disappointed to hear the reviews.
-
Tigerfan00It doesnt help its a Disney movie either.

Scarlet_Buckeye
Idk... but I thought the previews looked terrible. And Johnny Depp hasn't starred in a good movie since 2003 (i.e., Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl)Manhattan Buckeye;1467822 wrote:

lol, first off Black Pearl sucked, second off he was in Finding Neverland (2004, good movie) Sweeny Todd (2007, academy award nom lolfail) and public enemies which I remember not hating.Scarlet_Buckeye;1468170 wrote:Idk... but I thought the previews looked terrible. Manhattan BuckeyeI actually enjoyed Black Pearl - no expectations and it had a decent plot that made sense. The sequels - yuck. I don't think I could even describe the plot of those films. I'm not sure the writers could.

Scarlet_Buckeye
Never saw either. While I won't count/accept Finding Neverland, I'll give you Sweeny Todd back (even tho I haven't see in) because it wsa nominated for an academy. Forgot about that one. My bad.Commander of Awesome;1468178 wrote:lol, first off Black Pearl sucked, second off he was in Finding Neverland (2004, good movie) Sweeny Todd (2007, academy award nom lolfail) and public enemies which I remember not hating.
