I think Lake Erie Monster is pretty much on par or cheaper than every IIPA out there.

Besides, I don't think price is any way to judge a beer. If its good, its worth it.
I agree on price points. I wasn't trying to say it was over priced, though I understand my wording was a bit poor. I just wasn't as elated with it as I thought I'd be. Because of the price (aka I can get things I like better for the same price) I probably wouldn't buy it again.

Yeah, if you're not a fan of sweeter IPAs, its probably not for you. That happens to be my favorite style so its fits the bill perfectly for me. Just wish they made it year round.

By the way I'm not a fan of stouts but the Stone IRS is delicious.

I thought you were avoiding this thread as you haven't checked in for a while. I have a couple KBS sitting back for a couple of the local posters. Would you like me to set one bottle back for you too?

Are you going to Jungle Jim's beer fest?

Coopers Brewery Sparkling Ale tonight after I climbed up a motherfucking mountain.

Drinking a Sam Adams Infinium. Just found two bottles of it in my non-stash stash. Must be drank before July...per the bottle. We'll see when it comes to bottle number two, we'll now the last one.

I envy your ability to stash beers. I always end up drinking mine. Perhaps because I rarely have the funds to say "I'll buy two and drink one now and save the other for later" but more likely because I'm a retarded alcoholic.

If you don't like sweet IPAs, then steer clear of Avery's Maharaja. It's very rich, very heavy, and pretty sweet as far as IIPAs go.

Well depending on what happens today at work I might be drinking more of my non-stash and stash. Word is it's the day that they will be swinging the Big Axe. I've already cleaned out my desk and have it all in a box in my car just in case.

It might be me singing the praises of Yuengling for a while. God I hope not. I don't mind losing my job, but would hate for Yuengling to be my daily drink.

It would just suck losing the extra money that I throw at my beers. Has anyone ever financed beers?

    I'll give you a low 563% rate*.

I appreciate the offer, I've got a few credit cards with zero balance and just a little bit lower interest rate than what you offered. On the other I REALLY might have to take you up on your homebrew, just to support my habit.

Maybe I'll have to charge for the KBS I'm holding for some. Nah. I believe good beer is meant to be shared not charged for. Call me the Beer Fairy. I've been called a Fairy before in my Show Choir and Band days from HS...opps this isn't the Bullying thread, ignore that last comment.

Never been able to find an Infinium. I'd love to try one sometime. Your "stash" is quite impressive!!! :)

I'm with you, I don't possesses the self control to stash beers. This is why I need a beer fridge.

It was easier than I thought. The guy doing the tasting, back in 2005, had a limited beer that he would not sell to just anyone, 10th anny ale from AleSmith called Decadence. He would only sell it to people that would cellar it. He said go home get drunk, hide it, and forget where you hid it. I got drunk and The Wife hid it. I found it six months later. That was my first one stashed. I figured I kept it this long let's see how long I can keep it...still have it. I believe he said it would age for 10 years.

I've been known to spend stupid money on beers at times. It's just what I'm into. A guy I work with, so far I still do, collects expensive shoes, but will question himself on the $10.00 purchase of a DVD. Of course he wanted to know about good beers and asked me what I thought of Bud Select...I SMH.

Back to beer. What do you follow Infinium with? For me it wasn't a beer, but instead some Port Wine.

I'm the same way, I think the biggest collection was up to about 50 good bottles (other than the time I had 3 cases of beer left over from my wedding party which was nice). But every once and a while I get the urge to have a really good beer so it's easy to just go grab one sitting on the shelf and crack it open. My selection now is pretty weak.

I just don't have the room for a stash. I'm looking to move and will probably be downgrading in size but no longer have a roommate. Maybe in a couple of years.

If i buy good stuff i drink it. Recently has Stone RIS - one of the best beers i've had. We also split and Oatmeal beer that was also really good, i'll have to ask him what it was called but it was really good.

My stash right now is growing but only because I'm managing to age and keep some of my homebrew before I drink them all. Hopefully I'll have the self control to put some others down there as well (since I live at home right now one of the benefits is that I have an entire room for brewing/storing beers and shit).

Drank my Stone IRS last night......it was delicious. Might buy a few more bottles and age them.

Where have people seen GL Monster at? I checked with my local high end place, she did not have any yet, but did have it on order. I picked up 5 new singles including the palet wrecker.

I just checked my stash, I have near 60 unique bottles of beer to try in my bar. I need to step up my game.

Saw at store last night, already kicking myself for not buying it. I will remedy that this weekend.

My local Kroger had it, but this Kroger also has more beer than any other grocery store I've ever seen. Plus I was lucky enough to grab it before it was put out on the shelf. Saw it in a stack of cases that weren't put out yet.

I currently use cardboard wine boxes to hold my stash. Holds 12 beers and they are stack able. Not much light gets to them. The Wife bought some banker boxes the other day. I might transfer them to the banker boxes or at least my 12oz beers. I really need to figure out what all I've got and organize it.
