ts1227Bottom Right:

4. North Carolina
5. William and Mary
3. South Florida
6. NC State
2. UAB
7. Coastal Carolina -
wildcats20Woo Hoo!!!!!
lol -
ironman02Carolina gets William and Mary, and they somehow got a home game. I was beginning to think they weren't gonna make it.
-
wildcats20I knew that IF Carolina made it, they would get a home game.
A game in the Dean Dome makes more money for everyone than a game at William & Mary -
ironman02Yeah, I guess the money factor got them the home game, but they definitely didn't deserve it based on their resume.
Maybe they'll get the chance to beat State three times this year. The way things have gone, though, W&M will bounce them in the first round. -
wildcats20State won't beat South Florida
-
darbypitcher22jesus.... some god awful matchups
-
CinciX12This is very important. I want to know if UA turned down a bid. How would I find that out?
-
ironman02
Yeah, probably not.wildcats20 wrote: State won't beat South Florida -
wildcats20Cinci...I would look into Zona's website somewhere.

ts1227Tone on the Arizona message board makes it look like they were flat out shafted.
They mentioned that Miller did come out as really not wanting to go the CBI if it came down to that, but they would have gone NIT had they been offered. -
CinciX12Found an article quoting Miller trying to say it wouldn't be awful and that they'd go if offered.
No bid for Arizona. Congrats on taking that program straight to the basement big guy! -
CinciX12"The NIT is much different today than it was five years ago," he said. "It's a terrific tournament. There's some teams in that tournament that are among the best." - UA Head Coach Sean Miller
He says that at X and we are all pissed beyond belief at him. He says that at Arizona and I might rip his contract up. -
wildcats20
Well never mind on that one....the game will be in Carmichael...WTFwildcats20 wrote: I knew that IF Carolina made it, they would get a home game.

Azubuike24Arizona didn't get shafted. They lost 9 Pac 10 games. The Pac 10 was no better than C-USA, A-10, CAA- MWC or MVC. One Pac 10 team was par for the course.
Carolina got in because they were Carolina
St. John's got in because of the market and they could play at MSG
How does Marshall, with 23 wins and Hassan Whiteside NOT get in yet Tulsa gets a 5-seed? Illinois State getting in, let alone over the likes of Virginia Commonwealth and Marshall is disheartening.
I also wish the NIT would really try to showcase teams who could be very good next year. St. John's was a good pick. Georgia and St. Louis would have been fabulous picks for that case. Why reward teams who really underachieved and have many players who won't be around next year? Connecticut comes to mind. -

Renovations going on at the Dean Dome, I think.wildcats20 wrote:

wildcats20Ahhh ok.
I was looking everywhere and couldn't find anything. Was thinking maybe the Women's tourny was in Chapel Hill or something. -
ts1227The renovations apparently were planned long ago, expecting they'd never be playing a late March home game.

wildcats20Good find ts.
I think it might be a good thing to be playing in Carmichael, after this season this team doesn't deserve to be in the Dean Dome. -

I don't know, the Jim Calhoun meeting his old team in Northeastern where he started it all is pretty hooking.darbypitcher22 wrote:holy hell there are just some attrocious matchups on here
LOL. -
wildcats20According to ESPN, "UNC and UConn highlight NIT field"

UD and UC in the NIT...Arizona sitting at home doing nothing...and Xavier in the big dance. Does it get any better for us Xavier fans this year, Cinci?CinciX12 wrote: "The NIT is much different today than it was five years ago," he said. "It's a terrific tournament. reclegend22Zona couldn't get in the College Basketball Insider.com Bowl/Tournament Activity?
Rough year. -

As a UConn fan, I was hoping they would have turned it down. They dont deserve to play in anything after how they played down the stretch. Dyson and Robinson looked like they were ready to go to Portsmouth for the draft. Wouldnt be suprised if they either lost in the 1st round or fight embarassment and win the whole thing. They dont have any young players outside of Majok that would gain anything from this tournament though.Azubuike24 wrote: Arizona didn't get shafted. They lost 9 Pac 10 games.
