NCAA 1st Round: (2) Ohio State vs. (15) UC Santa Barbara
-
wildcats20I'm pretty sure the other times don't come out until Tuesday, could be wrong though

I think X will get the game at either 3 or 4 and OSU will be the last game of the evening. The #2 typically gets that draw and it gives CBS more ratings.bulldog8 wrote: ESPN now shows 7:30 on Tuesday for the play-in.....Much better Still awaiting the time slots on the rest of the bracket. I'm hoping for a late afternoon game for the Bucks, maybe 3 oclock. -

I'm thinking about going down for this, where'd you order your tickets from?CinciX12 wrote: The play in game is definitely in the evening. I have gone the last 2 years at Dayton and it is carried on either ESPN or ESPN2. -
darbypitcher22I hope OSU is a night game on Friday.. I have a DH in the afternoon
-
osu45804Early line is OSU - 16
-
goldengonzoWhen do they typically announce the times for the game? I have an exam Friday at 12:20. If the Buckeye game is at noon, then may God give me the discipline to not speed through that final.

I'm 99.9% sure that a 2 seed doesn't play at noon, unless my memory is failing me.goldengonzo wrote: When do they typically announce the times for the game? I have an exam Friday at 12:20. If the Buckeye game is at noon, then may God give me the discipline to not speed through that final. -
osu45804I'm glad they play Friday I have a Final on Thursday at 1:30 lol

devil1197Ohio State will be fine imo.
While everyone throws around names of Anderson or Monroe, we have the best guy on our side in POY Evan Turner.
The guys are shooting very well lately, shooting 48% from deep in the B10 tournament with all those tired legs.
This team is a #1 seed with Turner not getting hurt, our road is decent. -
ptown_trojans_1I hate this draw. OSU will win Friday, but I could easily see them losing in the 2nd round and certainly against Georgetown.
-
Cleveland BuckI wish I was still in college. I have to hope the Buckeyes play in the evening if I want to watch the game live.
-
devil1197Not a lot of faith in a team that has been rolling lately, taking teams best shots and still just winning.

Certainly lose to Georgetown? Shall we mark your words? I'd be one to bet that the Buckeyes could give the Hoyas a run for their money.ptown_trojans_1 wrote: I hate this draw. OSU will win Friday, but I could easily see them losing in the 2nd round and certainly against Georgetown. -
ts1227ESPN showing this thing as the late game, 9:35 tip

I'd be the one saying that OSU would beat Georgetown. Outside of a good run in the Big East tournament, Georgetown really hasn't been that consistent. They were 2-4 in their last 6 games before entering the Big East tournament.bulldog8 wrote:

Meanwhile, OSU has been rolling 13-1 in their last 14 games with the only loss to a healthy Purdue team by 3 points.
OSU is a very good team, people need to start realizing that. Even if we are not hitting shots, Turner can take over easily and Lighty/Buford have been driving lately. -
darbypitcher229:35 tip will do me just fine

bulldog8I wonder how the televising will split the time between the games that evening. Maryland and Houston play at 9:40, OSU and UC Santa Barbara play at 9:35, Syracuse and Vermont play at 9:30, and Cal vs Louisville is at 9:45. I know how they love to hop back and forth between games so I wonder if i'll actually get to see the majority of this one. Unfortunately, being at school in Washington, PA might not help my chances.

Yeah, as an OSU Alum, it hurts to say, but yeah, mark my words, the Bucks lose to either Oklahoma St (who has beat Kansas, Kansas St. and Baylor) or Gtown, who I think will be hot by the time they play OSU.bulldog8 wrote:

OSU is good, but streaky, very streaky and I think that hurts them in the end. They have not played great during the Big Ten Tourney and I think it will hurt them. -
devil1197They received UM and ILL's best shots because those teams needed a huge W (Illinois/UM needed to win out) to get into the NCAA tournament.
Are you going to say Duke is going to get knocked off earlier because they had some close games against teams hanging on for their lives?
OSU fucking smoked Minnesota today, 13-1 in their last 14 games and the best player in the nation. Not too mention that this team is starting to attack the basket and still shoot a nice clip (47% from deep in the tournament).
Ohio State will make it to the Elite 8 and then some imo. -
ptown_trojans_1
I can actually see Duke losing to Louisville, so yes. Depends which Louisville team shows up.devil1197 wrote: They received UM and ILL's best shots because those teams needed a huge W (Illinois/UM needed to win out) to get into the NCAA tournament.

Yes, OSU smoked Minnesota, but only when they caught fire, they played like shit the first half.
I can see a long cold spell killing them against Gtown or Ok. St. -
devil1197The thing with this OSU team is they can go on a 10-0 run or a 15+ run within minutes.
Most teams play well when they catch fire, but OSU has Turner who will be able to keep them in games if they do hit a dry spell.
Buford and Diebler are shooting very good lately while Lighty has the great ability to drive and score like Turner. -

Its regional based coverage. If you are in Ohio you will see the OSU game with look ins at the other three games. If OSU turns to be a blowout they will definitely switch to a more competitive game.bulldog8 wrote: I wonder how the televising will split the time between the games that evening. ptown_trojans_1Agreed they are streaky, but against solid competition a 7+ minute dry spell could simply be too much. Plus, Turner, as awesome a player he is, has been too turnover crazy the past few games.
It is a shitty draw, as if OSU was in the South or West, I could easily see Elite Eight, but even when the experts are saying the Midwest is the hardest region, it will be tough for OSU to go far. -

So what if i'm about a half hour from Ohio in western Pennsylvania? I don't really see any other schools on the list of night games Friday that are closer than OSU.slingshot4ever wrote:
