The Next Percy Harvin, and "now" SEC vs. Big 10 Debate

TheMightyGators
are you kidding me? You want to use BCS wins or the fact that that the two conferences played 2 games against each other as your comparison? So I guess because Alabama won the NC and Florida could have named the score against Cincy, that makes their BCS wins better.lhslep134 wrote: Bandwagon fan? I've been rooting for Florida since I was born, along with Ohio State because those are the two schools my family has attended. I currently attend OSU and rooted for OSU against UF in 2007 but I've been pulling for the Gators since I started following college football because of family ties.
And the Big 10 was VERY comparable to the SEC this year.
At the top:
Big 10: 2 BCS bowl winners
SEC: 2 BCS bowl winners
In the bowl season head to head:
Big 10: 1
SEC: 1
Opponents winning percentage for teams that won bowl games:
SEC: .713
Big 10: .735
Like I said, very comparable, just because the SEC has been better in years past doesn't mean they were better this year.
How about we just settle for the FACT that the Big10 had HALF their conference with a losing record. HALF! Wow!! -
lhslep134Or we can talk about how the SEC had 6 teams with losing records in conference (which goes to show how pathetic their OCC schedule is) and the Big Ten only had 4 teams with losing records in conference.
Or we can talk about the other fact I included that you ignored that the Big Ten had a higher opponent's winning percentage in the bowl games they won (which speaks volumes in the fact that the SEC is able to win games in which they're the favorite, congrats).
And Alabama? Awesome dude, they won one game against a Colt McCoy-less Texas. Were they the best team in the country? I really think so, but putting their BCS win as better than Ohio State's or Iowa's is not something I would do. Just because it was a bigger stage doesn't mean it was a better win. Iowa or OSU would also beat Texas without McCoy, as would Florida.
And Florida? We beat a Cinci team that had yet to play a good defense, I'm pretty sure everyone knew the game was going to be lopsided, on top that it was Tebow's last game, Urban's "last game", and Brian Kelly wasn't there.
Again, you can live in your fantasy world, but I'm a lot more of a realist, and the Big 10 DID compare to the SEC this year, because the SEC had a down year as a whole, and if you can't see that you're just another blind ignorant SEC fan, regardless of your team affiliation. -

Hmm it appears the Big 10 has a 97-91-7 record against the SEC, which, correct me if I'm wrong, is a winning record?
That is a FACT. You're so ignorant. -

You are not a Florida fan. You are a bandwagon fan. Go root for someone else. Not only are you a bandwagon fan, you are a complete moron for trying to compare the Big10 to the SEC. The Big10 is lucky to be the 3rd or 4th best conference last year. Anytime you want to compare the depth of the two conferences just let me know.lhslep134 wrote:
Uhm, there is disputing it. Considering the rest of the SEC was mediocre at best after Florida and Alabama, the Big 10 was mediocre after Ohio State and Iowa, the Big 12 was decent, Pac 10 was pretty much garbage, I'd say there was no best conference last year.TheMightyGators wrote: It was the best conference in college football, last season, yet again. Don't say there isn't a dispute. I'm a Florida fan but not an SEC cocksucker, you're a Florida fan and SEC cocksucker, it's okay there's a lot of you guys out there.
Big 10 > SEC
Keep on spinning. -
ytownfootballThe ONLY teams that the Big10 has a sub .500 record against is Independents and the Ivy League, back when they wore leather helmets.

ROGL......coming from T. Pryor loving, WHOOPS I mean T. TEbow loving, or wait........which one is it? Oh, thats right, depends on whether Florida or OSU has a better year. I can only imagine the title game a few years ago. You probably cheered for OSU when Ginn ran back a TD, but then cheered for UF the rest of the game???!???!!lhslep134 wrote:TheMightyGators wrote: It was the best conference in college football, last season, yet again. lhslep134Cats, I don't give a shit one way or another if you believe me or not. I know which team I rooted for, and that was OSU, just like I rooted for OSU against LSU, and just like I rooted for UF against OU.
You're generally bitter towards Florida fans because simply put, you can't beat them.
And PLEASE show me those facts, because I brought up a legitimate site, cfbdatawarehouse.
Just because you slob all over the SEC's knob regardless of your affiliation for LSU, and I don't care for any other team in that hillbilly conference besides Florida doesn't mean I'm any less of a fan than you. -

And heres the facts:
The SEC is 67-48-2 against the Big 10 all time
The SEC is 34-21 vs. the Big 10 in bowl games all time
You can only count the games if those teams were "actually" in the B10 or SEC. My #'s are actual head to head when these teams were in the B10 or SEC. You cant count PSU against SEC schools before 1990 considering PSU was "not" a B10 school until then. And you cant count games before 1932 when the SEC was "actually" founded. -
ytownfootballWhy? Because you say so?
Whatever chief. -
lhslep134I already read that article by that delusional SEC fan LOL.
CFBdatabase is a much more reliable source.
So you can't count Kentucky's 11 additional losses to Big 10 schools because it was before 1932?
You're such a delusional idiot.
The schools in the Big 10 have a record against the schools from the SEC of 97-91-7, and I'm not the only person on this board who agrees with that number either.
Have a great day, and continue slobbing on that SEC knob. I'm so happy that I can be a Florida fan despite hating the rest of the SEC with a passion, kind of like fans in other conferences. Too bad you guys are so ass backward that will never happen. You will ALWAYS beat your chest when Alabama wins a national championship, despite the fact that LSU lost to them.
I HATE that Alabama won the national championship, I was definitely pulling for Texas. -

Was Kentucky apart of the SEC before 1932. NO! Did the SEC exist then. NO!
You're such a delusional idiot.
cant handle facts?

How does having a losing record in conference prove anything about their out of conference schedule? That makes no sense at all. And do you really want to talk about strength of schedules? Really? And the Big10 conference had MORE than half their teams with losing records overall. That is flat out embarrassing, especially with the ooc schedule they played. Please, don't claim to be a Florida fan. Just stick with thd sweet Buckeyes!lhslep134 wrote: Or we can talk about how the SEC had 6 teams with losing records in conference (which goes to show how pathetic their OCC schedule is) and the Big Ten only had 4 teams with losing records in conference.

SpeedofsandI'm not jumping too deep into this pissing match because I know how ignorant some of the OSU homers are on this board. Both sides are right to an extent. cfbdatawarehouse goes off the school's records; the records of actual conf. match ups is also correct because it counts the records of when the schools were in the conferences. I couldn't care less who wants to count a bunch of PSU wins over Kentucky or not. Some here know the SEC plays better football than any other conference. Finally in 2009 the Big10 had a decent season at the same time the SEC had a down season. They still compared evenly overall. Big10 homers better enjoy it while they can, because the SEC will continue to have the best fans, best recruits, best coaches, and win National Championships.
